About the Item
An impressive untreated green 4.60-carat Paraiba tourmaline centers this elegant ring from famed jeweler Raymond Yard. First discovered in 1989, the Paraiba tourmaline is one of the world’s rarest and most vibrant gemstones. It is thanks to their rare chemical composition that these gems owe their spectacular coloring and internal glow that appears to light the stone from within. These extraordinary gems have only been found in the copper-rich mines of Brazil, Nigeria and Mozambique. The green Paraiba is certified by the Swiss Gemmological Institute, the Gemological Institute of America and GemResearch Swisslabs as being all natural, with no evidence of heat treatments to enhance its vibrant and verdant hue. The jewel is enhanced by a halo of glittering white diamonds totaling 1.11 carats. Set in platinum.
Considered one of the great Art Deco jewelers, Raymond Yard was renowned for his designs that display high-quality gemstones in exquisitely crafted platinum settings. In an age of American enterprise, the iconic New York jeweler created one-of-a-kind jewels for famous clients, including the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Woolworths and DuPonts.
