Sculptural ring designed by Kurt Aepli (1914-2002) for Trudel of Zurich
Exceptional cocktail ring, created in Zurich Switzerland by the jewelry house of Trudel, back in the beginning of the 1970. This ring has been designed with geometric patterns by the goldsmith artist Kurt Aepli, the former creative director of Trudel. The elegant ring was crafted with bold look in solid white gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. Embellished with a matching pair of exceptional natural diamonds and with one gorgeous translucent Colombian emerald from the mines of Muzo. This ring is unique and one of a kind, the epitome of Swiss quality and rationalizes the Art Deco with contemporary design. Is sleek, fun, and easy to wear, very comfortable.
Emerald: Mounted in the center in a bezel setting, with 1 oval sugarloaf cabochon cut (9 x 6 x 5 mm) of a natural vivid green Colombian emerald of 2.02 carats.
Diamonds: Mounted at the sides in floating bezel settings, with 2 squared carre step cut (4 x 4 mm) of natural diamonds, with about 1 carat, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 (or better) clarity.
Birthstone: Emerald for the month of May.
Weight: 12.95 Grams, (8.30 Dwt.).
Size: 6.25 and can be sized.
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and the Swiss mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "TRUDEL .750".
Kurt Aepli
He was born in the 1914. he was a master swiss designer, teacher and a talented goldsmith. was the chief designer of the Zurich firm Meinrad Burch, between the 1942 until 1967 and them when Trudel Juwelier acquire the firm, he remains as the artistic director until 1980. He also made some design for others firms like Gubelin and Patek Philippe. As a teacher at the Zurich School of Applied Arts, Kurt Aepli influenced generations of goldsmiths. For 35 years his teachings in special subjects were compulsory. Experienced goldsmiths came from around the world to apprentice at Trudel just for a chance to work with him. In a quiet and unassuming way, he was an artistic rock star. In the next decade, look for exhibitions of his work.
Muzo Emeralds
The emerald displayed in this ring, is from the Muzo region in Colombia, have great color saturation, is vivid green and transparent with no inclusions. Muzo is a town and municipality in the western Bocaya province, part of the department of Bocaya, Colombia. It is widely known as the world capital of emeralds for the mines containing the world's highest quality gems of this type.
Collateral: This ring is accompanied by a laboratory report prepared by the AGL document number (in preparation), stating the emerald mount in this ring is from Colombian origin with insignificant to minor oil treatment.
