About the Item
Bold, substantial, and sculptural, this 18 karat yellow gold Brutalist ring features four approximately 3mm - 3.5mm cabochon blue to green turquoise and eight single-cut diamonds. The prong set cabochon turquoise have an approximate total weight of 0.80 carats; the prong set single-cut diamonds weigh approximately 0.28 carat total with G - H color grade and VS clarity grade. The diamonds are prong set in pairs giving the illusion of being marquise-cut diamonds. The gemstones add vibrant color and flashes of sparkle which softens the ring design. The ring weighs 15.2 grams, rises approximately 5/8" off the finger and is a US finger size 6.5 with sizing beads. It can be sized; however, we do not offer this service. The top element of the ring measures approximately 1 1/4" long x 3/4" wide; the shank measures approximately 11mm at the top tapering to approximately 3.74mm at the bottom.
The unique style of this ring reflects the Brutalist movement of the 1970s with its geometric shape and seemingly haphazard arrangements of elements, its use of faux nugget finishes and jagged shapes, its bold sculptural design and raw textures, and its featuring of uneven shapes and unconventional arrangements. You will either love or hate this ring, but it is a bold creative design that encapsulates the Brutalist movement of the 1960s and 1970s and earns the respect of the art world!
