Art Deco Sterling Silver and Marcasite Flower Ring
About the Item
Marcasite jewelry has been made since the time of the Ancient Greeks. It was particularly popular in the eighteenth century, the Victorian era and with Art Nouveau and Art Deco jewelry designers. Marcasite was used because it gave the impression of rose cut diamonds in artificial- and daylight with its sparkling look.
This pretty 1930s Art Deco marcasite ring is crafted in sterling silver. The floral shaped ring is made of thick silver and the many marcasite stones are set with small mil grain decor. It has a great design, a fantastic piece and iconic of its time. The ring sparkles beautifully in daylight. A piece to cherish yourself or to give as a gift to someone special.
The ring is in very good condition. US ring size 6.50, the front measures 19 mm in height, width 14 mm and weighs 4.64 grams. Stamped with the 925 sterling silver hallmark. Due to the differences in sizing between Europe and the U.S., we recommend resizing your ring at your local jeweler.
