Victorian Pearl, Diamond and Enamel Mourning Locket Ring
About the Item
This is a wonderfully hand made yellow gold Victorian mourning ring. The ring is set with a central rose cut diamond in a cut collet setting and is surrounded by four original natural pearls. Fine black enamelling fills a shielded face and continues onto both open twisted shoulders; each of which has been expertly shaped and offers a quality example of the high level of Victorian craftsmanship. The inside of the ring is inscribed with the date '14th Aug 1844' and the initials 'E.B', whilst the back showcases an open locket compartment.
