About the Item

Crafted from sterling silver this wine funnel dates to the tail end of the reign of George III. The piece was manufactured in London and has date marks indicating it was manufactured in 1802 with a maker's mark for either Stephen Adams I or Stephen Adams II. The piece retains its original muslin ring which would have held a fine piece of cloth over the strainer to filter the wine. Manufactured as three pieces that join together, the item is in very good order for an object that is over 200 years of age. A delightful addition to a collection of wine funnels, or an equally good gift for a Georgian silver enthusiast. Marked - London hallmarks for 1802 and maker's mark for either Stephen Adams I or Stephen Adams II Measures - 14cm L (tip to tip when connected) Total weight of piece - 110 grams combined
