In 1829, at the age of 16, George Roskopf traveled to La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, where he undertook a three-year apprenticeship as a sales clerk with Mairet & Sandoz, a firm selling hardware and watchmaker’s supplies. This was his introduction to the watch making industry.
This piece from around 1915 is in remarkable condition. We have never seen a finer example of this early campaign model. The dial is flawless with kiln fired enamel printing. It is pin setting and amazingly, we can tell the crystal is original because it has started to turn purple, as old glass tends to do. We have just serviced this watch and it keeps dependable time and can be worn and counted on as well, to get you there on time.
