Waltham is one of Americas earliest watch companies and designed some of the worlds most accurate pocket watches for the railroads. This model with an original dial is very dependable with great styling as well.
The design of this watch is based on a theme created by Louis Cartier In the early teens when he saw giant tortoises supporting enormous columns in a Greek Temple. He immediately realized that in would be an elegant shape for a watch. Hence, the Tortue Watch. and the Tortue model is still in Cartier line, over 100 years later.
