Pair of grey H-269 Armchairs designed by Jindrich Halabala for UP Zavody, 1930s
By Up Závody, Jindřich Halabala
Located in Brandys nad Labem, Středočeský kraj
Pair of H-269 Armchairs designed by Halabala for UP Zavody, a well-known furniture manufacturer and dealer based in Brno, Czechoslovakia. In the last few years, these chairs have become increasingly rare with an equally increasing demand from interior designers. The armchair has been restored and reupholstered by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process. The new upholstery is high quality leather, it's very easy to clean and retains its colours very well even in direct sunlight. Additionally, you can custom order this item with any upholstery you want, from high quality leather to premium backhausen fabric, the choice is yours. Sold individually, although you can find this item in sets or even custom order yours in a set. Please get in touch with us for any questions you may have about this item's condition, authenticity, or any question in general. We're happy to help. More about the designer Jindrich Halabala was born on May 24, 1903 in Korycany into the family of carpenter Štepán Halabala, whose craft he learned in a family business between 1918 and 1920. He then joined the State Czechoslovak Vocational School for Wood Processing in Valašské Mezirící, which he graduated from two years later. After school, he started practicing at the United UP races, where he met their founder Jan Vanek. In 1922 he also began to study architecture at the School of Applied Arts in Prague, specializing in furniture and interiors with prof. Pavel Janák...
