Rococo Diptych
Located in Boston, MA
Artist Commentary:
This diptych started several years ago during a public art performance called Nike's Advice. I painted 130 feet of unprimed canvas with the public. It was scary! I don't consider myself a painter. I was having to accept Nike's Advice myself ... as in "Just Do It". Later, I used my sewing machine to stitch decorative lines. Gold-leaf was added before the surface was coated in UV filtering epoxy. The works are mounted with copper roofing nails to a stretcher bar with gold painted sides.

Hand Signed Dated 2001 Colorful Acrylic Vasa Laminated Lucite Triangle Sculpture
By Vasa Velizar Mihich
Located in Surfside, FL
Rhomboid, 2001
Laminated acrylic
Signed and dated: Vasa / 2001
9.5" H x 4.5" W x 2.5" D (size is approximate)
Vasa Velizar Mihich (born 1933), known as Vasa, is an American artist based in Los Angeles, California. Born in Yugoslavia, Vasa has lived in Los Angeles since his arrival in the United States in 1960. He is an academically trained painter and was a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles UCLA in the Department of Design and Media Arts. He taught theories of color to understand interdependence and interaction of color and form, color and quantity, color and placement, and after-image. In the 1960s, Vasa developed techniques for working with cast laminated acrylic forms based on simple Euclidean shapes. These prisms of luminous construction are created by composing colored planes within these geometric forms. To fully appreciate these works of art, it is essential to observe them from different angles―the sculptures dimensionality contributes to an ever-changing appearance.
Now retired as a professor emeritus, Vasa focuses on his conceptual art practice. His studio, designed to accommodate the technology required for his work, is located in the heart of Los Angeles. He makes laminated acrylic sculptures that reflect and refract light. He has had solo exhibitions at galleries in the United States, Japan, Italy and Serbia, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade, the San Diego Museum of Art, and the Palm Springs Desert Museum.
Vasa is best known for his sculptures made from colored pieces of the plastic, poly(methyl methacrylate), which is also known as acrylic and by the brand names Plexiglas and Lucite. Untitled from 1975, in the collection of the Honolulu Museum of Art, demonstrates the effect of these minimalist sculptures. His work straddles the West Coast Light and Space art movement, Artists such as Robert Irwin, James Turrell, John McCracken, Larry Bell, Craig Kauffman, Billy Al Bengston, Peter Alexander, and Lita Albuquerque...

"Large Vessel" - abstract sculpture - Barbara Hepworth
By Susan Hable
Located in Atlanta, GA
Susan Hable is inspired by the work of David Hockney, Milton Avery, Henri Matisse, Alex Katz, Howard Hodgkins, Hilma af Klint, Georgia O'Keeffe, Barbara Hepworth and Constantin Brâncuși.
With humor and a bit of mischief, Susan Hable’s “Don't Pick The Flowers!” is a body of work that is at once a refuge and a playground. Inspired by her sumptuous garden just outside of her Athens studio, Susan flows from one medium to the next from painting to collage to sculpture. Susan sees her garden as a place for adventure and daydreaming, challenging her perceptions of what her Art can be. Even a weedy ground cover has caught Susan’s eye, an overlooked invasive is seen in a new light becoming a dreamlike fairytale path. Her work asks us to engage in life, go for a walk and play.
Susan Hable Smith is the artist and designer behind the boldly colored and hand drawn patterns of Hable Construction...

Circle 11 - Dichromatic Glass Sculptural Artwork
By Chris Wood
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Chris Wood’s "Circle 11" is a dichroic glass light sculpture that captivates with its dynamic interplay of reflection and refraction. This contemporary geometric artwork features an intricate spiral of iridescent glass pieces, which shift in hue depending on the light and viewing angle. The piece harnesses natural and artificial light to create an evolving spectrum of colors, making it ideal for collectors of optical art, kinetic sculpture, and modern light installations. The rhythmic arrangement of elements invites viewers into a meditative experience, blending minimalism with an ethereal sense of movement.
Wood uses a range of high and low-tech optical materials to harness patterns of light that suggest ephemeral glimpses of moments in the natural world. Her minimalist sculptures are simple arrangements creating kinetic patterns in response to the environments in which they are placed.
The artist often uses a material called dichroic (meaning “two color”) glass, which was developed by NASA in the 1950's. Dichroic glass has a special optical coating meant to reflect certain wavelengths of light while letting others through, creating beautiful projections of light and color depending on the environment in which the artwork is placed.
This 20 inch square sculptural artwork...

"Receiving (24-inch)" abstract bronze sculpture
Located in Glen Ellen, CA
Cast bronze sculpture with classic green patina on black marble base. Edition of 3 at this size. Other sizes and patina finishes are also available by commission, please inquire for more details.
Pisapia's "Expedition Series," inspired by sea voyages, is about meeting life’s challenges with courage and purpose. It connects to the idea expressed by J.W. Goethe: “Character is formed in the stormy billows of the world.” Taking up life’s tasks can require one to go against the wind. The feeling of determination to achieve and continue steering through obstacles is poured into the pure forms; a dynamic balancing of the straight and curve on different axes. "With a rounded starting point," Pisapia explains, "I add on a variety of disparate angles, diverse curves, and twisting planes. I carve and smooth the surfaces, bringing out particular tensions and transitions."
Flavius Valone Pisapia is an Italian-Romanian artist born in Bucharest in 1981. He completed his higher education in the UK, with an MA in Transpersonal Arts & Therapy, 2014; a Diploma in Transformative Arts, 2011; and a BA (Hons) in Film and Video, 2005. Pisapia studied sculpture throughout his higher education and appreciated several sculptor mentors in the UK. Since 2016, he has resided in India, where he is currently an artist in residence at Studio Sukriti in Jaipur. He has had several solo exhibitions in India and his artwork is found in private collections worldwide.
"It's important for me to experience the world at a deeper level by penetrating the veil of the senses. Through an immersive process the essence, beauty and the pure form of an idea are gradually revealed to me. The emerging awareness flows into my artwork imbuing it with a higher reality. To achieve this awareness in my creative process, I go through three stages: imagination, inspiration and intuition." - Flavius Pisapia
