The equally impressive original frame is adorned with rings of beading, foliate rinceaux, and spiral fluting, with a deep convex molding carved with additional fluting.

19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Buffet ~ Vaisselier is a marvelous work of the wood sculptor's art! Hand-crafted and carved from dense, old-growth white oak, it features a classical architecture that is embellished with bold full relief carvings from the crown to the base. The theme is a celebration of the bounty of nature and the spoils of the hunt, with amazingly realistic renderings including a stag, rabbit and boar. Two display shelves atop the main almost unfettered surface provide display options, and are upheld by lavishly scrolled and carved supports. A tier of drawers separates the serving surface from the spacious pair of cabinet doors below, all sumptuously carved and including lions' heads serving as the drawer pulls.
