A very fine original antique English botanical watercolour painting depicting this beautiful depiction of a flower/ plant. The work came to us from a private collection in Surrey, England and had been part of an album of works assembled by the artist during the early 1900's.
During the Victorian and Edwardian era in Britain, it was very fashionable for ladies of aristocratic and wealthy backgrounds to draw and paint still lifes of flowers and plants that they had picked or seen in gardens. Many were highly accomplished and extremely talented artists, who sadly were not encouraged to exhibit due to society frowning upon such activities.

This watercolor was made for the diamond "jubilee" in 1897 of Queen Victoria, crowned on the 20 June 1837 Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. She was also Queen of Canada from 1867 and Empress of India from 1876. This watercolor represents two portraits of the Queen, one in 1837 and the other in 1897, as well as a beautiful diamond which reminds of the famous Indian diamond the Koh-i-Nor which was presented in 1850 to Queen Victoria, for the 250th anniversary of the English East India Company, and cut and mounted on a tiara with two thousand other diamonds in 1852. Sara Menon was born in 1985 in Palmanova and lives and works in Aquileia, in the province of Udine.
She specialized in the restoration of paintings and wooden sculptures in Mantua, a profession she still pursues today, while continuing to experiment with other art forms such as painting, sculpture and illustration.

His talent and dedication quickly set him apart, and by November 17, 1944, he had officially registered his business, soon after obtaining his hallmark—a distinctive "P.A.T. / a bicycle wheel butterfly"—on December 7, 1944.
Paul Touzet's artistry is celebrated for its collaborations with iconic houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, and Sterlé, reflecting the highest standards of French luxury. His exclusive designs have graced the likes of legendary figures, including the beloved singer Charles Aznavour, for whom he crafted exquisite pieces. Touzet's craftsmanship even reached royal circles, with bespoke tuxedo buttons personally delivered to Prince Rainier of Monaco and stunning jewelry designed for his wife, Princess Grace of Monaco (Grace Kelly).
