Early 19th Century Shell Desert Dish Porcelain Hand Painted, Staffordshire UK
By Staffordshire
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is an early 19th century porcelain desert dish with a fluted shell shape, made by one of the Staffordshire, English potteries and dating from the George 111rd period, circa 1820. This piece is unmarked to the base but we believe it is very well hand painted and could be by one of the high quality English makers such as Coalport or Davenport. Either way this piece is a beautifully hand decorated piece in a stunning Imari style pattern with carefully hand-gilded highlights. Overall a beautifully painted early English porcelain...

Wilhelm Kage for Gustavsberg 5 Small Argenta Bowls and One Square
By Gustavberg, Wilhelm Kage
Located in Lège Cap Ferret, FR
Algot Wilhelm Kåge (6 March 1889 – 25 November 1960)[1] was a Swedish artist and designer, mainly known as a ceramic designer and as the artistic leader of the Gustavsberg porcelain factory. Kåge studied decorative painting at Tekniska skolan in Stockholm and later for the painter Carl W. Wilhelmson in Gothenburg, Johan Rodhe in Copenhagen and at Plakatschule in Munich, where he learnt graphic techniques.[2] His early career was dedicated to advertising and the production of posters, but his best known work was in ceramics, begun when he was appointed artistic leader of Gustavsberg in 1917, remaining there until 1949, when he was succeeded by Stig Lindberg. He was presented with the Prince Eugen Medal for design that same year. The focus of Kåge's early ceramic designs, as of much of Swedish design of this period was on practical solutions to social issues, an example of which was his Praktika (1933), a simply designed and stackable set of tableware aimed at working-class families. Praktika was a commercial failure, as the intended buyers preferred more traditional and ornate products. Kåge's most commercially successful design was the green-glazed Argenta earthenware with decorations in silver, that was produced in many shapes and with many different surface designs. Wilhelm Kåge (1889-1960) for Gustavsberg. Four small Argenta bowls and one square bowl in glazed ceramics. Beautiful glaze in shades of green with silver inlay in the form of leaves. Mid 20th century. Measures: 8 x 2 cm Round bowls...

Gio Ponti for Cleto Munari Modernist Silver Plated Serving Plate Italy, 1980s
By Cleto Munari, Gio Ponti
Located in Roma, IT
Wonderful Mid-Century silver-plated serving plate, centerpiece or vide poche, designed by Gio Ponti for Cleto Munari and produced in Italy during the 1980s. Signed on the top by Gio Ponti and bears the Cleto Munari stamp underneath. In fabulous conditions, with no scratches on the upper surface, 4 pieces currently available. Its sleek and efficient design, composed of two subtly offset concentric planes, makes this object not only functional but also a masterclass in geometric elegance, perfectly reflecting the artistic vision of Ponti. This rare piece is ideal to enrich a mid-century modern living room, dining table, or a minimalist bar setup. Dimensions (cm): Diameter – 32 Giovanni “Gio” Ponti, (Milan, November 18, 1891 - Milan, September 16, 1979), is one of the Italian masters of architecture. He was also a designer and essayist and one of the most important of the twentieth century. Other than the great architectural works which carry his unmistakable signature, he created a vast amount of work in the furniture sector. This is demonstrated in his three Milanese houses which were fully furnished in the "Ponti" style. The houses in via Randaccio, 1925, Casa Laporte in via Brin, 1926 and the last in via Dezza, in 1957 is an "expression" of his home design ideas...
