Warhol's Flower series was a departure from his usual representation of brands which he was making at the time. The series is based on a photograph of hibiscus blossoms that he found in a magazine titled Modern Photography. According to art critic David Bourdon, Warhol’s vibrant manipulation of colors produces a floating effect in his flowers, “like cut-out gouaches by Matisse set...

Bertil Vallien Unique and Monumental Wall Sculpture in Glass and Wood, 1966
By Bertil Vallien
Located in Skanninge, SE
A very important early work by Bertil Vallien b. 1938.
Unique and monumental wall sculpture, hand painted and contour sawn wood.
Made in Sweden 1966. One of a kind!
The sculpture is depicting fishes in the water. It was commissioned by an optician in 1966.
That is why the eyes are made of oval glass mirrors. They are also hiding the holes where
you screw the sculpture to the wall.
The sculpture would be great in a fish restaurant or in an indoor pool area.
It will certainly make a statement wherever it will hang!
A photograph depicting the artist in front of the sculpture is included (see image)!
Fully signed and dated 1966 (see image).
The sculpture is in 3 parts. The upper part is in one piece. The lower part is in 2 pieces.
There are no problems hanging this on the wall. It is heavy but not that heavy.
Measurements:
The upper part, Lenght 226cm, height 68cm, 7cm deep.
The lower part, Lenght 245cm, height 75cm, 7cm deep.
As mounted as in the pictures: length 304cm, height 120cm.
Total length if one put these pieces after one another, circa 475cm.
You can put this sculpture on the wall with different combinations and variations.
In 2017 Flint Institute of Arts in Michigan bought the "One million Dollar Boat".
They paid one million dollars for the mixed media sculpture "Passage" made by Bertil Vallien.

Italian Black and White Carrara Marble Mosaic Tiles with Florentine Monuments
Located in Firenze, IT
In the present work small handcut tiles of pure white Carrara marble are the background of this interesting contemporary mosaic which represents one of the most celebrated landmark in Florence.
The facade of the church of Santo Spirito (Holy Spirit), designed and built by Brunelleschi, is created with precious beige-colored Botticino marble tiles and surrounded by a frame of small black glass glazed paste tiles.
Carrara and Botticino are among the most famous Tuscan marbles that’s why the local mosaic artist and craftswoman- who creates this superb work of art- decided that the mosaic featuring the most important symbol of Florence should be made of these materials.
To make the composition more interesting, two different types of Carrara marble were used: the statuary white marble is matte and the white Carrara marble called "zuccherino" (sugary) is more sparkling. The random alternation of these two marbles give a pleasant vivid and three-dimensional effect to the entire mosaic tile.
Each small rectangular and squared tesserae are hand cutted and each one of these mosaic is one of a kind. The mosaic plaque has a wood panel as support and the tile is housed in hand painted giltwood frame.
The tile on sale and immediately available now is 15x15 cm and reproduces the church of Santo Spirito (Holy Spirit)- as you can see in the main image- but many other mosaic with the most important symbols and monuments of Florence are available as the Old Bridge, Santa Maria Novella, Florence's Cathedral with the Brunelleschi's dome or the Lily symbol of the city and so on, as showed in the photos.
These white and black marble mosaic tiles...

Calibrated to Balance, hanging sculpture by Monica Guggisberg & Philip Baldwin
By Monica Guggisberg & Philip Baldwin
Located in London, GB
'Calibrated to Balance' is a unique red, green, yellow, teal and amber hand-blown and cut glass hanging artwork with steel frame by the American and Swiss artists, Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg.
Exquisitely handblown and cut to the highest quality and refinement, the elements have been composed and suspended on a steel frame ready for wall hanging. Increasingly the artists have become more sculptural in focus, while seeking to imbue their work with a deep connection to archetypal forms and shapes, and striving for the highest level of craftsmanship. They address eternal symbols of human culture and history, primarily through blown glass, but also using steel, and constructions in other materials.
Baldwin (1947, New York) and Guggisberg (1955, Bern) have been a collaborative team for over forty years. They share an instinctive appreciation for the subtle blending of art and design, functionality and abstract expression, combined with a love of material – especially glass.
The list of museums and collections which have acquired their works is long and impressive. Individual showings, as well as participation in group shows, have given them opportunities to present their works at leading galleries and in major museums in Europe, Japan and the United States and their works rank among the best to be found in the international glass art scene. Working freelance, they have also designed successful products for international glass manufacturers since 1985. Their clients have included renowned firms like Rosenthal, Steuben, Corning and Venini.
Over time their work has developed its own distinctive signature, based in Italian cold-working (battuto) combined with the Swedish overlay process for layering colours. They have been pioneers in adapting these techniques and in creating a distinct expression of their own. Colour, light, texture, pattern, and shape together reveal an undercurrent of meaning and value, adhering to the simplest of forms and clear lines.
Over the years they have become more sculptural in focus, while seeking to imbue their work with a deep connection to archetypal forms and shapes, and striving for the highest level of craftsmanship. They address eternal symbols of human culture and history, while embracing contemporary evolution in form and meaning.
In recent years large installations and major exhibitions in public spaces, such as Canterbury Cathedral...
