Large Ink Drawing Abstract Expressionist Rooster Woman Artist
By Judith Brown
Located in Surfside, FL
Judith Brown (December 17, 1931 – May 11, 1992) was a dancer and a sculptor who was drawn to images of the body in motion and its effect on the cloth surrounding it. She welded crushed automobile scrap metal into energetic moving torsos, horses, and flying draperies.
Brown attended Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York (B.A., 1954), where she learned to weld from her teacher, Theodore Roszak, a pioneering abstract expressionist sculptor. This is done in a style similar to Leonard Baskin.

"Natalie's" - Plein Aire Pastoral Landscape in Pastel on Sandpaper
Serene plein aire landscape with cows by Clive R. Tyler (American, b. 1958). This composition depicts a farm in Fort Collins, Colorado, with a large white barn at the top of the hill. There are several cows grazing in a bright green pasture. A partially broken fence is directly in front of the viewer - a symbol of the artist's desire to portray the realism of the scene, including imperfections. This piece is executed on sandpaper, a trademark of Tyler's work.
Signed "CL Tyler" in the lower left corner
Signed, notated, titled, and dated on verso (see photo).
Presented in a silver colored frame.
Frame size: 11.25"H x 14"W
Paper size: 9.5"H x 12"W

Shizico Yi is known for her expressive and distinctive artistic style, particularly evident in her mesmerizing ink drawings.
Rather than relying on photographs, Shizico paints life as the moments unfold, capturing consecutive mornings spent with her cherished cat, Sonny in a series of paintings and postcard projects. Created plein air and in situ, these scenes unfold over consecutive mornings, with Shizico's cherished cat as the captivating focal point.
Set against the backdrop their garden plants, the artwork elevates daily routines into moments of awe and tranquil reflection. Offering a portal into the serene beauty of everyday life; the interplay the comforting presence of a feline companion and the natural surroundings create a captivating narrative that elevates the ordinary to the extraordinary.

Untitled "Art Attacks on AIDS"
Subway Drawing / Chalk on Paper
Museum Acid Free Silk Backing, Charcoal Seamless Handmade Wood Frame and Museum Non Glare Plexiglass.
Since the very beginning of his career, Keith Haring was always passionate about creating art that was easily accessible to everyone and his New York City subway drawings, murals and street art meant that a much larger and more diverse audience could experience his work, outside of the more insular space of an art gallery.
As he traveled the New York City Subway System Keith noticed black matte paper had been used to cover expired adds. He purchased white chalk which he kept in his pocket, and started drawing, this quickly became a daily obsession of his. As the train would enter a station he would look for the black spaces on the subway station walls, exit the train, quickly draw without any planning or any preparation then leave on the next train.
As noted by Dr. Amy Raffel:
""His incessant repetition, Haring’s subway drawings allowed him to perfect his highly recognizable reduced linear vocabulary, and to create an inventory of images. Simplification was practical: he needed to complete his drawings as fast as possible to avoid being arrested. He created characters, such as the barking dog and the radiating baby, which he drew on flat planes with no spatial depth, often with only a horizon line or a staircase to suggest space. Drawn close to the surface like cartoons, his images had immediacy and impact, and could carry multiple meanings through various combinations.""
Keith is believed to have completed roughly 5,000 chalk subway...
