Wine Carafe with Stopper, France Around 1900
Located in Hamburg, DE
Antique stopper carafe from France from the years around 1900. The carafe has a bulbous body and opens into a narrow neck, which is closed by a stopper. The bulbous part of the carafe is once decorated all around with etched vines and leaves. This suggests that the carafe was probably originally intended as a wine carafe. The bead around the neck, was obviously applied by hand, clearly visible in the seams (see photos), which at first moment can be mistaken for breakage.
Can be used wonderfully for wine, spirits or as an oil or vinegar dispenser...

Small J.T. Kalmar 'Ice Glass' Chandelier, 1960s with One Lamp Socket
By J.T. Kalmar
Located in Hamburg, DE
Small J.T. Kalmar 'Ice Glass' chandelier, 1960s with one lamp socket
This chandelier from the 1960s by the Austrian designer J.T. Kalmar apparently more than deserves the name ice glass. The glass icicles lined up together form the lampshade of the chandelier and look amazingly similar to a real ice sculpture. When switched on and flooded with light, the ice glass casts beautiful shadow patterns on the surrounding walls and creates a cosy warmth in the room despite the icy sight.
J.T. Kalmar lived and worked in Austria and gained extensive design experience at an early age in his father's company, which specialized in candlesticks and other objects cast in bronze and which Kalmar later took over himself. In the course of his career Kalmar designed lighting for many renowned architects as well as for important institutions such as the Vienna Opera...
