Feroz Khan - Untitled Acrylic on Canvas, 36 x 48 inches About Artist : Mohammad Feroz Khan was born in 1978 and brought up in Delhi. He have not undergone any formal training in Art but gained experience first from his Father Late Mohd Ibrahim Khan, a Banner Painter. Subsequently, under the able tutelage of renowned Artist Late Manjit Bawa (Guruji - his Mentor in Art) he studied and learned Art for 14 years. Bawa took much care to train him to use brush and pastels on a variety of subjects, also guided him to savor the beauty and nuances of Texture. Then, as an initial step, his Guru guided him through a maze of depictable visuals scattered over the all too familiar places of Delhi. He asked him to draw inspiration from real life. Deferential to my master’s academic style of figuration, he soon convinced his guru of deft brushmanship and ability to create naturalistic human and animal forms, avoiding explicit linear delineation, while projecting solid masses. He chose to see the ordinary things and scenes that make up for our everyday life. He look at the little details of a tailor working on a manual sewing machine or a street-side vendor selling a cool drink on a hot summer day or rickshaw pullers or beggars and various other street vendors – denizens of the city’s poorest quarters. It is the sheer simplicity of each of these activities that appeals him and is reflected through his Canvas. Animal Painting Large Oil Yellow Cat Black Vase Modern Indian Art
By R B Bhaskaran
Located in Norfolk, GB
Part of the history of Modern Art in India, this striking painting is by noted seminal artist R B Bhaskaran. The artist’s work plays with the genre of abstraction, spanning the period of Modern to the Contemporary in Indian Art. In this recent work, by using the medium of mixed media on paper, Bhaskaran produces a softer, more ethereal feeling and his choice of yellowy orange and form of the cat juxtaposed against the black form of the jar, leads to a strong, playful yet elegant composition. Modern and Contemporary Artwork from India is now International in its collecting base. Leading artist’s such as R B Bhaskaran have always operated on a global platform. Born in 1942 in Madras, India, Bhaskaran was an important part of the exciting explosion of Modern Art which began in India the 1960’s. He worked between India, the US and the UK, practising and learning with some of the best. Provenance: Coming directly from the artist’s studio, we are delighted to be bringing this work to the market for the first time. The painting comes with a Certificate from the Gallery. Condition and framing. The work is titled 'Cat and Black Jar' and was made in 2017. Image size is 36 inches by 48 inches, mixed media on canvas and with the frame the work is is 46 inches by 58 inches, The painting is in good condition. R B Bhaskaran ( 1942 - ) Paintings by leading Indian artist R B Bhaskaran, often large-scale and vibrant, use a stripped-down imagery that celebrates form, colour and ground. Only the best artists make a success from such simplicity. They capture our imagination and draw us into the work. These paintings allow us to explore an intangibility of thoughts, feelings, and fleeting private moments. Bhaskaran’s paintings are great artworks and great art often teaches us something about ourselves. Just like his contemporary, Howard Hodgkin, Bhaskaran’s paintings are distinctive. The brushstrokes and limited palette of strong colours point us straight to the artist and the spontaneity of his forms. Whilst his images may appear to be simple in their choice of objects and shapes they are anything but, which is why they hold our attention and draw us in. Each work, peppered with mark-making, lines, dots, and colour spots, creates paths that expand the narratives the paintings offer. We see plants, trees and animals, pots and vases...

Wings 2021, Acrylic, Charcoal, Canvas by Modern Artist Shuvaprasanna "In Stock"
By Shuvaprasanna Bhattacharya
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Shuvaprasanna Bhattacharya - Wings 2021 - 60 x 30 inches (unframed size) Acrylic and Charcoal on Canvas , 2021 One of the most popular series of the Master Artist, The Golden Flute is the artists more romantic renedition of Art. The iconic figures of Krishna, Radha, and Ganesha that found lyrical expression in the Icons series are modern representations and sophisticated idealizations of the same images in the popular media. Krishna is a cosmic musician, and the tune he creates by playing his transcendental flute is embodied with cosmic energy. When Krishna is depicted as being between the age of 5 and 8, it is always with his flute. Therefore, during this period, he is aptly called Murlidhara (murali means “flute,” and dhara means “hold”), signifying the one who holds the flute. He is never without it, whether he is with his mother, on the grazing grounds with his herd of cows, among his cowherd companions or roaming around on the Jamuna banks. Gopis lose their selves in this tune. For them, music becomes the voice of love, which is too passionate and secretive. Style : The city of Kolkata has always figured prominently in his work. His themes come from his personal interactions with its urban milieu - its sickness and sordidness, its violence and vulnerability and all that compounds its existential agony. Shuvaprasanna has depicted varying moods of the city and its people, its places, and all its facets that make the city distinctive. He doesn't merely portray reality as 'matter of fact' and his presentation of reality often has dream-like elements in it. In terms of technique, Shuvaprasanna boasts a precise, finely executed style that yields an unmistakable visual intensity. He works comfortably in an assortment of media, including oil on canvas, charcoal, and mixed media. About the Artist and his work : Born : In Calcutta, 1947. Education : Graduated from Indian College of Art (R.B. University, Calcutta) in 1969. Exhibitions : Shuvaprasanna has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Tao Art Gallery and at the Chawla Art Gallery, Square One Mall. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'ABODE' sold at Waddington's 'Fine Prints & Photography Auction' in 2014. There have been many articles about Shuvaprasanna, including 'An exclusive edifice' written by Kunal Ray for The Hindu in 2014. Selected Solo Exhibitions : 2011 - Shuvaprasanna: Recent Works, CIMA, Centre of International Modern Art, India, Kolkata 2010 - Summer Show 2010, CIMA, Centre of International Modern Art, India, Kolkata 2007 - ‘Madhura: The Golden Flute’, organized by Indian Contemporary at Visual Arts Centre, Hong Kong 2006 - ‘The Divine Flute’, Aicon Gallery, USA 2002 - ‘Icons and Illusions’, Gallery ArtsIndia, New York 1998 - ‘An Appreciation of Ted Hughes’, Exhibition of Crow Paintings...

Fish under the Water, Watercolor on paper, Blue by Indian Artist "In Stock"
By Kartick Chandra Pyne
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Kartick Chandra Pyne Untitled Watercolour on Paper 30 x 22.5 inches Untitled Watercolour on Paper 30 x 20 inches (Set of Two) Inclusive of shipment in roll form. Style : After graduating from the Government College of Art and Crafts, Calcutta in 1955 Pyne began to move away from the tenets of both classical Indian and Western art to respond to the beckoning of his own artistic impulses. Landscapes fascinated him initially. But along with the world of nature and flora emerged his own reconstructed images of fauna that often signified as metaphors of human passion and energy, and his paean to the elemental magic of women. This transition may have risen from his penchant for human psychology and observing the intricacies of human behavior. In the case of Pyne too, his artistic vision does not adhere to logic because he does not see with his eyes but rather through his subconscious mind -- in an act of surrender to the liberty of his dreamy vision -- with little control over the wanton caprice of his depictions. So, in this distinctive vein, he is perhaps the most seminal surrealist of the contemporary Indian art. About the Artist and his work : Born : 1937 in Calcutta, West Bengal. Education : 1955 Diploma in Fine Arts, Govt. College of Art and Craft, Calcutta. Exhibitions : 1961 : AIFACS, New Delhi. 1967, 80, 82 : Academy of Fine Arts, Calcutta. 1968-87 : Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. 1968 : Jehangir Art exhibition, Bombay. 1979 : 100 Years of Modern Indian Art, Fukuoka Art Museum, Japan. 1988 : Chandigarh and Chitrakoot Art exhibition, Calcutta. 1991 : Calcutta 300 - Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Calcutta. 1991, 92, 93, 95, 97, 2001 : Chitrakoot Art , Calcutta. 1992 : Gandhara Art...

By Mohammad Osman
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Mohammad Osman - Gangireddu Acrylic on Canvas, 36 x 36 inches, 2020 Born in 1972 Originally from a village in Mahabubnagar district ,I draw inspiration heavily from village life.. I have completed my bachelors of fine arts from JNAFAU Hyderabad. My first solo show happened with gallery g in 2010.later after that I had many solo and group exhibitions. Recently I have been painting various versions of a bull that is traditionally decorated during sankranthi. I am touched with Indian culture and tradition and since past many years I have been working on this bull series and its also symbolic image of "SANKRANTI" festival. My childhood my village are the reasons for this gangireddu. I lived in a village for twenty five years and am strongly connected to my village and my roots there. And I have chosen Gangireddu because I found it very interesting with beautiful traditional elements in it. I feel it's nothing less than a beautiful composition of art. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: B. F. A ., (Painting) J.N.T.U , College of Fine Arts ,HYDERABAD. SOLO SHOWS: 2010 - Gallery – G , Bangalore. Untitled, Mixed Media on Paper by Modern Indian Artist "In Stock"
By Manu Parekh
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Manu Parekh - Untitled - 12 x 9 inches ( unframed size) mixed Media on Paper Inclusive of shipment in roll form. A lovely Mixed Media work in black, white and red color by Modern Indian Artist Manu Parekh who was very strongly influenced by old masters of Indian art, Ram Kinkar Baij and Rabindranath Tagore. He was the recipient of honors and awards like The Padma Shree from the Government of India. Style : Parekh’s early work explored the relationships between man and nature, as according to him, this was an energetic link that had to be celebrated. The artist also points out that, since then, contradictions have formed the basis of his artistic practice, no matter the subject or genre of his works. Polemics have always intrigued Manu Parekh – the energy of the organic form and the inherent sexuality within these forms are intangible elements in his works. His paintings provoke viewers to take notice of the world around them through the emotion, pain and anguish expressed in the subjects of his paintings. His colors and forms exude a volatile energy that can barely be contained within the confines of his canvas, and become an extension of the artist's personality. Vivid colours and prominent lines are an integral part of Parekh’s work and each exudes the energy that he attempts to capture. Parekh admits to being very strongly influenced by his surroundings. His stay in the city of Calcutta, for instance, drew him towards Santiniketan and the old masters of Indian art, Ram Kinkar Baij and Rabindranath Tagore. His appreciation of their work, more at a perceptual level than stylistic one, urged him to delve deeper into the thoughts that inform his own oeuvre. Banaras as a city came to play an integral role in Parekh’s work after his first visit there following his father’s death. This holy city of hope, of faith, of tourists offered him a vast number of contradictions in one location. Parekh also highlights his relationship with his wife Madhvi, who is a self taught artist, and his admiration for Picasso as key influences on his works. About the Artist and his work : Born : 1939 in Gujarat. Education : 1962 - Diploma in Drawing and Painting from the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. Solo Shows and Exhibitions : 2007 - ‘Banaras – Eternity Watches...
