Dated 8th March 1958. One page (27.8 x 21.5 cm). In English. Perfect condition with usual folds in the paper. With some pencil and blue ink notes by the Countess.
With this letter, in formal terms and on headed paper, Albert Field, as official compiler of Dalì's work, asks to the Countess make the catalogue complete with some information concerning "Instrument masochiste" and "Ossification prèmature d'une gare", bought by the Countess in 1934.
The background:
While the Catalonian artist was exhibiting his work at the National Gallery in Washington, he commissioned to Albert Field the creation of his Official Catalogue of Graphic Works, a guide to the artist’s works for collectors, dealers, gallery owners and museums: an opus magnum encompassing 40 years of production and comprising 1900 illustrations, of which 1500 in color. Albert Field was Dalí’s official archivist, besides the topmost authority regarding the artist’s work, who discovered approximately 17 types of falsification, as he reported to the St. Petersburg Times in 1987. Therefore, the catalog had the function of uncovering false Dalís scattered throughout the world. Nevertheless, Dalí himself reacted to the falsification phenomenon by saying: “Someone who is subjected to forgery the way I am must really be fantastically good''. An eccentric genius like Dalí thus found a kindred spirit in Mr. Field, an English, science, and maths teacher, as well as collector of playing cards, who had a passion for nudism and rambling, and who combined all of his interests by climbing the Appalachian Trail completely naked. During the period of this correspondence, Beppe Guzzi (Genoa, 1902 - Rome, 1982) knows his success: from 1930 to 1954 he partecipates to 11 editions of the Venice Biennale and from the third edition 6 times at the Rome Quadriennale, being awarded during the VII edition, as well as he realizes exhibitions in Livorno. From here Guzzi calls Nomellini for a collective exhibition.

Day and Night - Arabic Calligraphy is a precious manuscript with Islamic sacred verses in an ancient calligraphy style.
One page, one-sided, in Arabic, the original sheet ( cm 17x 11) is in excellent condition and under plexiglass, with an ivory-colored passepartout and framed in a ebony frame (cm 34.5 x 2.3 x 28.5).
The script is in black ink with some words in red ink.
The composition of the manuscript includes four-part: the left and the central part of the sheet belongs to bigger words, on the top of the sheet are written small words which are interwoven and quite challenging to read, for the below part of the sheet and the right side of the composition, the situation is the same.
It seems the small words present the praying, left side of the sheet decorative circled phrases.
In the main and big part of script, we can see some words of “Lail Ol- Nahar” and “Men Azaben Nar”, which refers to differences of Day and Night made by God, and avoidance from “Fire Of Hell”. The words in red ink are also “Allah” And “Muhammad” which demonstrate manner of a calligrapher to show his true belief by make a difference in color. Calligrapher creates beautifully this script which just “His God, Allah” and “Prophet Muhammad” are in red ink and through color are separated from words in black ink.
Calligrapher has covered the sheet with all holy words of praying and has not left any empty space, which has made this remarkable piece of art adorable.
In this precious piece of art, calligrapher intended to present the whole world as the sheet of calligraphy: “How the world is full of this holiness and there is no empty space without sign of Almighty God...

An affectionate greeting letter written with a rapid calligraphy and in a cryptical way, with quotations understandable only within the friendship relationship between the poet-artist of "Loves and Flowers" and the Italian gallerist, Gaetano Chiurazzi (Naples,1899 - Rome,1967), best-known as "Tanino".
De Pisis is today best-known for his cityscapes, metaphysically-inspired maritime scenes, and still lifes, especially those depicting flowers. His work has a particularly airy quality, and is laden with a sort of pathetic pleasure.
This letter demonstrates how de Pisis spent his life: between Rome, Paris and Venice, living a very extravagant lifestyle; he had a pet parrot named Coco, and in Venice he was one of a handful of residents at the time who used a gondola. He had two personal gondoliers on 24 hour duty, who wore black-and-gold livery.

Frans Masereel (1889 – 1972). He was a Flemish painter and graphic artist who worked mainly in France, known especially for his woodcuts focused on political and social issues, such as war and capitalism. He completed over 40 wordless novels in his career, and among these, his greatest is generally said to be Passionate Journey. Masereel's woodcuts influenced Lynd Ward and later graphic artists such as Clifford Harper, Eric Drooker, and Otto Nückel. Masereel's woodcuts influenced Lynd Ward and later graphic artists such as George Walker, Clifford Harper, Eric Drooker, and New Yorker cartoonist Peter Arno. Masereel's woodcut series, mainly of sociocritical content and expressionistic in form, made Masereel internationally known. Among them were the wordless novels 25 Images of a Man's Passion (1918), Passionate Journey (1919), The Sun (1919), The Idea (1920), Story Without Words (1920), and Landscapes and Voices (1929). At that time Masereel also drew illustrations for famous works of world literature by Thomas Mann, Émile Zola, and Stefan Zweig.
