Salvador Dali 22k "Dalí d'Or" For Piaget Coin Ring in 18K Yellow Gold Circa 1966
By Salvador Dalí
Located in Miami, FL
22K Gold Salvador Dali "Dalí d'Or" for Piaget Limited Edition Coin. Circa 1966. Ring setting is made of 18 karat gold. Signed by Salvador Dali, Piaget, and Van Cleef & Arpels. Complete with an original Van Cleef and Arpels Bergdorf Goodman Paris Jewels Boutique box. Also included is the book 'Piaget' by Franco Cologni in which the Dalí d'Or collection is displayed. This ring was typically made as a collaboration between Salvador Dali and Piaget, while this ring has an additional exchange of hands in its signature and retailing by Van Cleef at Bergdorf Goodmans Paris Jewels Boutique, respectively. Ring Details: - Type: Signet Ring - Metal(s): 22K Gold Coin, 18K Gold Setting - Reference No.: 3141500 - VCA Reference No.: 5V383-6 - Band Width: 3.5mm - Elevation Off The Finger: 7.2mm - Ring Face Measurement: 20.4 x 20.9 MM - Gross Weight: 16.6 grams Retailer: Bergdorf Goodman Paris Jewels Boutique Hallmarks: "Piaget" "750" "VCA 5V383-6" "314" "0900" "1966" "1/2" _______ Salvador Dali's artistic brilliance is immortalized in the "Dalí d'Or" for Piaget and Van Cleef & Arpels 22k Gold Coin in 18k Yellow Gold Ring. An authentic creation from Piaget, this ring features a coin sculpted by Salvador Dali, crafted from solid 18k yellow gold with the coin itself composed of 22k solid yellow gold, portraying a captivating double face on the front. Fully hallmarked by the designer with metal purity, this masterpiece is a testament to Dali's fascination with gold. Retailed by Van Cleef & Arpels at Bergdorf Goodman Paris Jewels Boutique, it stands as a unique and treasured work of art with a rich history. In 1966, Salvador Dalí embarked on a creative journey, crafting two medals for the esteemed 'Monnaie de Paris' (The Paris Mint), initiating the minting of his distinctive currency—the "Dalí d'Or." Inspired by Louis XIV's Louis d'Or. Driven by a lifelong attraction to gold, Dali passionately delved into the creation of his own line of intricately engraved gold coins, each a testament to his artistic vision. The following year, Piaget unveiled a limited edition collection of watches and jewelry, featuring coins from the Dali mint. This captivating gold ring, beyond its role as jewelry, is a true work of art and history—a ½ Dalí d'Or coin, delicately mounted in a signed Piaget and VCA 18k setting adorned with European convention marks. Symbolizing Dali and his muse, Gala, these coins, crafted over a decade in collaboration with Huguenin Frères, come in four denominations, ranging from half a Dalí d'Or to five Dalí d'Or. This limited edition ensemble was presented in Paris, where Salvador Dalí, seated in a transparent inflatable chair, presided over the unveiling. _______ Ring Size Guide: UK/AU: K 1/2 USA/Canada: 6½ France: 50.25 China/Japan/India: 10 Germany/Russia/Ukraine: 16.25 Italy/Spain/Netherlands/Switzerland: 10.25 _______ Included with this purchase is the book 'Piaget' by Franco Cologni in which the Dalí d'Or is displayed. The page's contents are relayed below: Depicting himself and Gala with as well as recurring motifs such as laurel leaves and eggs - a symbol of rebirth frequently used in his work. Piaget described these pieces at the time of release as follows: From the genius of Salvador Dalí, his palette and his crucible, a new coinage has come to us – the Gold Dalí. The obverse bears the famous mustachioed 'lucky antennae' profile, inseparable from the effigy of wife Gala: 'my Gravida queller of terrors and conqueror of desire'. On the reverse, in the likeness of our own earthly sphere – the hard yet soft element – are the eggs, teeming with life in process of formation – the world of tomorrow. For Salvador Dali, the egg is so replete with meaning that it is to be found in most of his key-works. Enthralled by these captivating gold coins, emblems of art absolute from Dali's alchemistic smithy, PIAGET, the master-jewellers, have secured the sole right to combine them with their own ‘haut luxe' production. And so you will now find '5 Dali' - '2 Dali' - '1 Dali' - '½ Dali' pieces converted, as is done with antique coins, into pendants, bracelets, rings and other exclusive items. We may add that each and every Dali coin...

Giovanni & Luigi Pichler 1790 Rare Agate Carved Intaglio of Mercury in 14kt Gold
Located in Miami, FL
Important carved intaglio ring by Giovanni or Luigi Pichler (1773-1854). An extremely rare intaglio seal piece, created in Rome Italy by the Pichler's Atelier in the late early 18th century, circa 1795. It was carved in an oval cabochon cut shape, from a triple layered translucent bluish agate. The intaglio seal depicts the naked figure of the Roman goddess Mercury, in running flying position to the right with a helmet and winged sandals. Raising his left hand and holding a trophy with the right hand. A butterfly or flying insect at the right. Signed, Pichler in Greek (ΠΙΧΛΕΡ), for Giovanni or Luigi Pichler (1773-1854). This seal has been made after the famous Flying Mercury (Mercure volant) statue, created by the mannerist sculptor Giambologna (Giovanni da Bologna 1524-1608), a Flemish-Italian sculptor that work all his life mostly in Florence in Italy. One of the versions of the actual sculpture is located at the Bargello Museum in Florence Italy and the other at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Mercury. in Latin Mercurius, in Roman religion is the god of shopkeepers and merchants, travelers and transporters of goods, and thieves and tricksters. He is commonly identified with the Greek Hermes...

GERMANY 1928 Bloodstone Signet Ring In 14Kt Gold Carved With Stylized Eagle
Located in Miami, FL
A signet seal ring with an eagle made in Germany. This is a very rare signet seal ring, created in Germany back in the 1930's. The ring has been made during the Weimar Republic and the Third Reich period in solid yellow gold of 14 karats with high polished finish and is mount on top with an intaglio seal carved from bloodstone. The carving depicts a standing stylized geometric eagle facing to the left with the gothic letters in the exeter, DKD, (Deutscher Kalibrierdienst). The Bundeswehr consists of the Armed Forces and the major civilian organisational elements. In addition, it includes the Military Counterintelligence Service, which is directly subordinate to the Ministry of Defence. Together, all of these organisational elements fulfil the mission of the Bundeswehr. The German Eagle The coat of arms of Germany, also known as Bundeswappen displays a black eagle with a red beak, a red tongue and red feet on a golden field, which is blazoned: Or, an eagle displayed sable beaked langued and membered gules. This is the Bundesadler (German for 'Federal Eagle'), formerly known as Reichsadler. It is one of the oldest coats of arms in the world, and today the oldest national symbol used in Europe. It is a re-introduction of the coat of arms of the Weimar Republic (in use 1919–1935), which was adopted by the Federal Republic of Germany in 1950. The current official design is due to Karl-Tobias Schwab [de] (1887–1967) and was originally introduced in 1928. An Intaglio Seal This is an engraved gem, frequently is a small and usually semi-precious gemstone that has been carved, in the Western tradition normally with images or inscriptions only on one face. The engraving of gemstones was a major luxury art form in the ancient world, and an important one in some later periods. Strictly speaking, engraving means carving in intaglio (with the design cut into the flat background of the stone), but relief carvings (with the design projecting out of the background as in nearly all cameos) are also covered by the term. This article uses cameo in its strict sense, to denote a carving exploiting layer of differently colored stone. The activity is also called gem carving and the artists gem-cutters. References to antique gems and intaglios in a jewelry context will almost always mean carved gems; when referring to monumental sculpture, counter-relief, meaning the same as intaglio, is more likely to be used. Vessels like the Cup of the Ptolemies and heads or figures carved in the round are also known as hardstone carvings. Country: Germany. Period: Art Deco, 1928-1938. Bloodstone: Mounted on top in a bezel setting, with 1 oval flat cabochon cut of a natural bloodstone, which is carved in low relief with a stylized standing eagle. Birthstone: Bloodstone for the month of March. Weight: 11.50 Grams, (7.38 Dwt). Size: 10,5 and may be easily sized up or down on special request. Measurements: 20 mm by 23 mm (0.79 x 0.91 Inches) and raise 4 mm over the finger. Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark monogram and the mark for the assay and warranty of the 14kt gold as follows, ".585". Collateral: This German signet ring...

ANCIENT ROME 100-200 AD Signet Intaglio Ring In 23Kt Gold & Carved Carnelian
Located in Miami, FL
An ancient Roman signet intaglio ring. This is an exceptional and beautiful historical ring, created during the ancient Roman Empire, circa 100-200 AD. This rare one-of-a-kind intaglio signet ring, was masterfully crafted with plain smooth surfaces in rich yellow gold of 23 karats and embellished with an intaglio showing the allegorical figure of the Roman goddess Ceres, she was the deity of agriculture and fertility. This ring is of utmost importance, due to its size and the extreme quality of its manufacturing. Surely this ring belonged to a Roman nobleman or an extremely rich person. It is truly a miracle that this ring has survived for almost two thousand years in the conditions it presents. Ceres In ancient Roman religion, agriculture was an important part of life and was idealized as a way of life. The Roman gods and goddesses of agriculture include: Ceres, the goddess of agriculture, grain crops, fertility, and motherly relationships. She is often depicted with crops like barley and wheat, or a cornucopia of produce. Ceres is the only Roman agricultural deity to be listed among the Dei-Consentes, Rome's equivalent to the Twelve Olympians of Greek mythology. Ceres had the power to fertilize, multiply and fructify plant and animal seed, and her laws and rites protected all activities of the agricultural cycle. In January, Ceres (alongside the earth-goddess Tellus) was offered spelt wheat and a pregnant sow, at the movable Feriae Sementivae. Intaglio This is an engraved gem, frequently is a small and usually semi-precious gemstone that has been carved, in the Western tradition normally with images or inscriptions only on one face. The engraving of gemstones was a major luxury art form in the Ancient world, and an important one in some later periods. Vessels like the Cup of the Ptolemies and heads or figures carved in the round are also known as hardstone carvings. Carnelian: Mount on top in an oval bezel, with 1 semi-oval cabochon cut carved from natural carnelian, made into an intaglio with the figure of Ceres draped and standing to the left, holding a hoe, two wheat branches and an agricultural instrument at her feet. Birthstone: Carnelian for the month of July. Weight: 9.1 Grams, (5.85 Dwt). Size: 8.5 and can be only sized with an adapter to avoid any alteration to the antiquity. Measurements: 27 mm by 21 mm (0.87 x 0.51 x 0.15 Inches) and raise 7 mm over the finger. Hallmarks: None, electronically tested for 23 karats gold (.9583/.9999 Au) Collateral: This ancient Rome ring is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
