Puiforcat (Hermes) - 246pc 950 Sterling Silver & Vermeil Flatware Set + Chest !
By Emile Puiforcat
Located in Wilmington, DE
The worlds of luxury and craftsmanship often intersect in fascinating ways, exemplifying the pursuit of perfection through design and skill. Two iconic brands that embody this union of artistry and elegance are Puiforcat, the French silversmith, and Hermès, the esteemed fashion house. Despite their distinct histories and expertise, both brands share a common thread of dedication to craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design.
The House of Puiforcat (now owned by Hermes) was founded in 1820 by Emile Puiforcat, a visionary silversmith who sought to redefine traditional craftsmanship with a modern perspective. The brand quickly gained recognition for its commitment to exceptional quality and its avant-garde designs that pushed the boundaries of silversmithing. In its early years, Puiforcat became a favored choice for French aristocracy and European nobility, solidifying its reputation as a leading silverware manufacturer.
Hermès, a name synonymous with luxury, began its journey in 1837 as a harness workshop in Paris. Founded by Thierry Hermès, the brand initially focused on crafting high-quality leather goods, primarily for horse riders. Over the years, Hermès expanded its offerings and ventured into the world of luxury fashion, establishing itself as one of the most prestigious names in the industry.
What sets Hermès apart is its unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and its dedication to the creation of enduring, exquisite pieces. The relationship between Puiforcat (Hermès) and its artisans is a testament to the brand's commitment to excellence. While Puiforcat and Hermès operate in distinct domains—silversmithing and fashion—both brands share a deep-rooted commitment to traditional craftsmanship and quality. This commitment extends not only to the materials used but also to the expertise of the artisans who transform these materials into exceptional creations.
The stories of Puiforcat and Hermès, though distinct in their origins and crafts, converge in their shared commitment to craftsmanship, tradition, and timeless design. The legacies of these two iconic brands are not just tales of luxury but narratives of artistry, dedication, and a pursuit of perfection. Puiforcat's innovative silversmithing and Hermès's enduring leather craftsmanship stand as beacons of excellence in their respective fields. Together, they remind us that true luxury is not just about wealth or opulence but is a manifestation of the enduring connection between art and craftsmanship. Puiforcat and Hermès have...

Big the Hat Lamp by Kilzi
Located in Geneve, CH
Big the hat lamp by Kilzi
Dimensions: D 20 x W 21 x H 32 cm.
Materials: oak, cherry and meranti wood.
Materials may vary.
All our lamps can be wired according to each country. If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance.
The “hat” lamps have a volcano shaped top piece in opaque oak wood, with a small opening at the tip. The light runs down to the lower part of the piece creating a floating illusion. This again moving shape is composed of a crooked axis cylinder and a non symmetrical lathed section.
Jorge Suárez-Kilzi was born in Venezuela to immigrant parents of Spanish and
Syrian descent. His collection of works is signed under his mother’s last name, Kilzi, which is also often used to describe a person who works with plaster and chalk-unconsciously leading Jorge down a path he was destined for. The name has a link to a hard childhood in movement, to an immigrant background, to Latin American and its vernacular arts, to a sense of movement and evolution.
As a grown man, the sensibilities of his childhood took him all the way to Japan, where worked as an architect in the offices of Sejima+Nishizawa Associated Architects/ SANAA and Junya Ishigami. Swiss architecture, which seemed in contrast, firm and steady, called upon him on a different basis, a return to order but also a reconnection to nature. A recent trip to Mexico and the mesoamericas, felt to Jorge as forgiveness to his early history and aesthetics. Driven by years of immersion in exotic culture and architectural experience, in 2018, he made the decision to become a freelance architect and artist, going from fields of architectural visualisations to ceramics and furniture, giving special attention to drawings and decorative motives. Every piece is expressed in simple forms and delicate emotions, where fluid silhouettes accompany each other like a soul in companionship. Jorge’s recent creation is titled “Mush” Lamps...

Christo The Pont Neuf Wrapped mixed media glue original fabric hand signed
Located in Paris, FR
Christo "The Pont Neuf Wrapped 1 " mixed media with original fabric signed.
Image dimension 69X101 cm with frame 71X103 cm hand signed by the artist with a piece of the original fabric glued.
Good condition
Christo Vladimirov Javacheff (1935–2020) and Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon (1935–2009), known as Christo and Jeanne-Claude, were artists noted for their large-scale, site-specific environmental installations, often large landmarks and landscape elements wrapped in fabric, including the Wrapped Reichstag, The Pont Neuf Wrapped, Running Fence in California, and The Gates in New York City's Central Park.[1]
Born in Bulgaria and Morocco, respectively, the pair met and married in Paris in the late 1950s. Originally working under Christo's name, they later credited their installations to both "Christo and Jeanne-Claude". Until his own death in 2020, Christo continued to plan and execute projects after Jeanne-Claude's death in 2009.
Their work was typically large, visually impressive, and controversial, often taking years and sometimes decades of careful preparation – including technical solutions, political negotiation, permitting and environmental approval, hearings and public persuasion. The pair refused grants, scholarships, donations or public money, instead financing the work via the sale of their own artwork.
Christo and Jeanne-Claude described the myriad elements that brought the projects to fruition as integral to the artwork itself, and said their projects contained no deeper meaning than their immediate aesthetic impact; their purpose being simply for joy, beauty, and new ways of seeing the familiar.
On September 22, 1985, a group of 300 professional workers completed the temporary work of art The Pont Neuf Wrapped. They had deployed 41,800 square meters (450,000 square feet) of woven polyamide fabric, silky in appearance and golden sandstone in color, covering:
The sides and vaults of the twelve arches, without hindering river traffic.
The parapets down to the ground.
The sidewalks and curbs (pedestrians walked on the fabric).
All the street lamps on both sides of the bridge.
The vertical part of the embankment of the western tip of the Île de la Cité.
The Esplanade of the Vert-Galant.
The fabric was restrained by 13 kilometers (8 miles) of rope and secured by 12.1 tons of steel chains encircling the base of each tower, one meter (3.3 feet) underwater.
The "Charpentiers de Paris" headed by Gérard Moulin, with French sub-contractors, were assisted by the USA engineers who have worked on Christo and Jeanne-Claude's previous projects, under the direction of Theodore Dougherty: Vahé Aprahamian, August L. Huber, James Fuller, John Thomson and Dimiter Zagoroff. Johannes Schaub, the project's director, had submitted the work method and detailed plans and received approval for the project from the authorities of the City of Paris, the Department of the Seine and the State. 600 monitors, in crews of 40, led by Simon Chaput...
