Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, George Harrington is known for his, often humorous, anecdotes of American life in the pre-industrial age. His subjects included polo matches, carriage rides and coaching scenes, and pastoral landscapes. After a professional career in business, Harrington studied art and subsequently became a successful landscape and equestrian painter. He exhibited widely and with success including at the National Academy of Design (1888), the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Boston Athenaeum and at the Boston Art Club of which he was a member.

Georges Lucien Guyot (born December 10, 1885 in Paris, died in 1973), is a French animal artist.
Biography :
From an early age, Georges Guyot showed artistic abilities, but the modest conditions of his parents did not allow him to study art. He did his apprenticeship with a woodcarver. Guyot excelled in copying works of the 15th, 16th, and 17thth centuries, but soon he showed an attraction for nature. This attraction led him to the Jardin des Plantes where he could study wild animals and translate his observations into sculptures and paintings.
Famous figure of Montmartre, Georges Guyot was the host of the Bateau-Lavoir from the time of cubism. In 1931, he joined the group of Twelve, created by François Pompon and Jane Poupelet and which brought together sculptors like Marcel Lémar, Paul Jouve, André Margat...
