Customizable Desalto Roller Chaise Lounge by Francesco Rota
By Desalto
Located in New York, NY
Breaking down the seat into essential graphic elements. From this premise arises Roller: armchairs, ottomans, and chaise lounges that come to life from round and oval rolls, geometric, sculptural, and defined, designed to ensure maximum comfort thanks to the use of polyurethane of different densities. The forms mold around the person who sits, giving life to a product that not only welcomes but also embraces, with refined finishes and tailored seams that enhance its shapes. The metal, essential both aesthetically and technically, appears in the form of a round tube, delineating in space a supporting skeleton that elegantly sustains the seat cushions. Every piece of this upholstered family is crafted with high-quality materials and impeccable craftsmanship, ensuring durability and unparalleled comfort. The Roller collection represents an excellent choice for comfort and elegance. With its varied composition, including chaise longue, pouf, armchair, and double pouf, it offers an incomparable relaxation experience. Although each individual piece is sufficient to give character to the space, it is in their different combinations and in the interplay of finishes and fabrics that the possibilities multiply. The possibility of covering the various elements with multiple fabrics simultaneously opens up an infinite range of options to customize the product. A family of upholstered furniture consisting of a chaise longue, armchair, ottoman, and double ottoman...

Antique French Gothic Oak Chaise Longue, Circa 1870
Located in Dallas, TX
In the 18th and 19th centuries, it was not uncommon for skilled craftsmen to repurpose older wood carvings into their own furniture creations. A French menuisier utilized this technique (circa 1870), incorporating a previously carved chair back and arms into the construction of this Gothic style chaise lounge. Based on the faded Gothic motifs and age separations, the repurposed pieces were most likely carved in the 16th century. The Gothic period carvings seen on the top rail include a series of foliate groupings flanked by bulbous finials. Although the carvings have faded over the course of centuries, the finials might have been leaf cups, which were often seen during the Gothic period. The back rest has been adorned with arcading beneath an infilled niche that is flanked by a pair of linenfold carvings. A cream colored cushion has been affixed by small nails above an apron embellished with barb tracery and ogee brackets. The entire lounge is supported by six block legs, with the back four extending directly from the back and the arms. Relatively low to the ground, our French Gothic oak...

Madame B, Felt and Wood Chaise Lounge, Drake / Anderson in Stackabl
By Drake/Anderson
Located in New York, NY
STACKABL is a configurator that allows anyone to customize furniture online, an innovative system that allows you to turn high-quality, surplus metal, wood, and felt offcuts from our manufacturing partners – located within a 150-mile-radius – into fully finished, custom works ready to be shipped to your home or project. Aided by algorithms and robotics, the configurator identifies remnant inventory (in the form of metal, wood, and felt) that fits your aesthetic choices. This inventory is then put back through the manufacturers' own machines, and into the hands of their own experts, who execute your design. In the fall of 2020, Maison Gerard paired with STACKABL to show just what can be accomplished with the configurator. Maison Gerard tapped the talents of six prominent designers, asking them to create pieces of their own within STACKABL. Drake / Anderson's Madame chaise: Named after Madame Récamier, the 19th-century French socialite noted for her extreme beauty and intellectual prowess as well as her salon, which drew literary and political luminaries of the time, this Modernist take on the chaise lounge invites conversation and stimulates thought. Its crimson hue and sloping shoulders recall the sensuality of neoclassical portraiture, while the slice of shocking pink lending a piquant contrast at the base is an ode to another famous Madame, Elsa Schiaparelli, the provocative fashion designer who popularized the bright shade in her 1940s couture...
