Stunning Example of a single English Minton Porcelain Two Branch Candelabra, modelled as a Cherub holding on each hand an out swept candle holder, seated on an oval base above an elaborate footed stand. Circa third quarter of the Nineteenth Century, possibly earlier Exquisitely decorated in colours of turquoise on white glazed ground with lavish gold highlights. Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses, no discoloring anywhere. Typically unmarked as pieces of this early period. Woven wicker is extremely resistant over the years, if it is stored in a dry place and without excessive temperature changes, and it could also change color or nuances due to its sunlight exposure based-on nature. The weaving by the craftsman is performed with soft and wet material, and the material dries naturally with the passage of time losing its elasticity. For this reason, avoid excessive pressures, overloads of heavy weights or impacts. The bases or wooden parts are entirely in solid wood: with the aging they could change in size and present natural micro-cracks. Avoid direct and long exposure to the sun, completely avoid wetting. About the lamp usage, in normal condition the items don’t require special maintenance. Technicals About item technical details and bulbs specifications, please refer to the technical data sheets. Mawa, narrow at the base and wider towards the top, borrows its features from a flower in all its splendor.” This container reinterprets the archetype of the woven basket in a contemporary way, with ample proportions and organic asymmetrical forms.
