Exhibition Notes

"Schematic/Motif." As a series, was a medium for me to put most of my focus on tertiary details. A lot of the animated pieces I do tend to have so much context behind them, I really was longing for an avenue to convey less context but much more micro fidelity and nuanced beauty in 3D design. The score itself is written to pair with this concept, giving a conceptual context to each section of the body.

The full body: a cinematic piece, much like a wall of sound, everything all at once. The legs: a constant pulsating movement portrayed by a 4 on the floor beat. The torso and the heart: An intimate soundscape narrated by a fluttering lead, giving the listener a feeling of being inescapably close to the melody. Lastly, the arms: Aggression and force, a sense of utilitarian strength, sonically narrated by a dark and more aggressive beat.

The score as a whole is written in such a way that whatever order you play each section in, they will seamlessly transition. If you view pt.1 then pt.3 they will appear to be the same song, and consequentially the same video. the same applies to any combination of the videos. This execution was important to me as to ensure that collectors could hold, trade and collect these pieces in a way that allows them to combine any formation of the videos.
