Central Park South

This property was purchased by the client to act as a Pied-a-Terre for their family when visiting New York, and it was important for all the spaces to be comfortable yet elegant, having the dual functionality of formal living as well as accommodating family life. In the main room we used two large tailored sofas upholstered in very resilient mohair, thus creating a large seating area for the whole family without sacrificing the “formal” look of the room. We also used a large ottoman on wheels and smaller tables to have a playful space. We used a mirror TV in this space, so when it is not in use it is hidden from view, and the eye is taken to the elegant Flemish style frame. Because the client is an art and antiques lover, we placed a couple of curated furnishings, such as a Baroque stool a William and Mary secretary and a 19th Century English round table to give personality to the space. The same concept was carried throughout the apartment.
