Picnic in the Sky
This project was started with a custom Edward Fields rug to resemble a summer meadow seen from a bee's perspective, which then lead to the name 'Picnic in the Sky'.
Two custom Dune ombre sofas followed, as both clients like to watch TV together when they are not entertaining.
The TV can turn from vertical to horizontal and looks like art when not in use.
The existing Bulthaup Kitchen was re-clad in satin aluminum and warm wood for the center island.
In the dining area, presided over by a Hunt Slonem bunny painting, vintage chairs around a custom purple table from Objects for Objects, are covered in a laminated Clarence House fabric - they can be wiped which comes in handy with a baby.
Artemide 'Skydro' fixtures by Russ Lovegrove, akin to mercury glass 'clouds' illuminate the ceiling in the Living/Dining combination and disguise the fact that the electrical boxes in the concrete slab ceiling are not placed in ideal locations.
A new custom bookcase and it's visual continuation with a Brunschwig & Fils wallpaper on the sliding door separate the area from the Home Office.
In the Principal Bedroom, a King size French provincial bed from 1stdibs upholstered in a Rubelli Luke Edward Hall fabric features linens with a custom 'snail chain' embroidery designed by Harry from his capsule collection with Hamburg House.
A pair of colored glass bedside tables from Cosulich, unique Christopher Spitzmiller faux bois lampshades, a vintage ET alarm clock and some pieces from the client's art collection complete the room.
The Nursery is clad in pure fantasy with a celestial mural by Papermint and custom pink furniture from Zoya B.
In the Hallway a custom blue lacquer and brass wardrobe by GMD Berlin from 1stdibs holds gloves, scarves, hats and dog leashes.
The Bath and Powder Rooms boast Kohler vanities and wallpapers by Aimee Wilder ('Shrooms') and Lee Jofa (Hunt Slonem bunny paper with matching fabric on the shower curtain).
