Skyrise Office

Office by Sofia Aspe Interiorismo in Lomas de Chapultepec IV Seccion, MX

Sofia Aspe Interiorismo worked in these offices with KMD Mexico architects. In a penthouse with low ceilings the offices demanded to grow. The answer was to strip the ceilings and show what was intimate, leaving the installations and structure bare. The spaces expanded, and light came in, revealing tubes, columns, girders and beams. We decided to enhance the beams by painting them in a manor green to provide more height.

This industrial atmosphere contrasts with cozy rooms that evoke a private library: walls lined in wool, sheets of Italian wood veneer, furniture not meant for offices and modern art works.

Sofia Aspe Interiorismo placed some contemporary objects in a timeless spaces so they would age nicely over time.

The striking views of Mexico City are part of the atmosphere that combines the intimate with the collective and the public with the private to avoid the usual coldness of the corporate world and light up the rooms, the personal collections, and the art found there.
