Whimsy on Woodland

A happy empty nest story continues to twist and turn! It looked like the dust was settling after both kids in this active family of golfers and sailors were excelling at their respective colleges. The couple was trying to determine a “look” for their Bedroom suite. An Osborne and Little velvet appealed and a whimsical direction was chosen. A major, tricky renovation a dozen years previously had left them with an awkward cavernous foyer that needed some TLC. Because we needed an overscaled pattern to match the space we enlisted English and Harms, decorative painters. Patti chose the cypress trees of California to use as a central motif of our pattern because of the husband’s love of Napa Valley and the California aesthetic. After getting the redecorating almost to completion, the couple choose to relocate to Florida. Their daughter is living in the family home now, and, good news, it still serves as the home base for all the family travellers!
