Aronson, David 1923-
David Aronson, son of a rabbi, was born in Lithuania in 1923 and immigrated to America at the age of five. He settled in Boston, Massachusetts where he studied at the school of the Museum of Fine Arts under Karl Zerbe, a German painter well known in the early 1900s. Aronson later taught at the school of the Museum of Fine Arts for fourteen years and founded the School of Fine Art at Boston University where he is today a professor emeritus. An internationally renowned sculptor & painter, Aronson has won acclaim for his interpretation of themes from the Hebrew Talmud and Kabala. His best known works include bronze castings, encaustic paintings, and pastels. His work is included in many important public and private collections, and has been shown in several museum retrospectives around the country. He is considered to be one of the most important 20th century American artists.
At twenty-two David Aronson had his first one-man show at New York's Niveau Gallery. The next year, six of his Christological paintings were included in the Fourteen Americans exhibition at Manhattan's Museum of Modern Art where Aronson’s work was included alongside abstract expressionists Arshile Gorky, Robert Motherwell and Isamu Noguchi. In the 1950s, Aronson turned more toward his Jewish heritage for the inspiration for his art. Folklore as well as Kabalistic and other transcendental writings influenced his work greatly. The Golem (a legendary figure, brought to life by the Maharal of Prague out of clay to protect the Jewish community during times of persecution) and the Dybbuk...

Fabbri was born in Quarrata (Tuscany). At the age of 12, he attended the Scuola d'Arte in Pistoia and then, under the instruction of the painter Fabio Casanova, he decided to embark on an artistic career and created his first sculptures, mainly using the wax and plaster.
In 1932 Fabbri, in order to continue his education at the Accademia di Belle Arti, moved to Florence where he frequented the artists' Caffè Giubbe Rosse, meeting point for the intellectuals known as the Ermetici Group (Eugenio Montale, Carlo Bo, etc.) and also came into contact with the painter Ottone Rosai and the poet Mario Luzi. Vrouw met Uil Owl Bronze Sculpture Girl with Owl on Head Wisdom In Stock
By Erwin Meijer
Located in Utrecht, NL
Uil Owl Bronze Sculpture Girl with Owl on Head Wisdom Contemporary In Stock
The statues of Erwin Meijer are subtle with a recognizable, personal handwriting.
They breathe the atmosphere of a narrative poem, where the reader not only encounters the artist, but also himself.
Though the statues are realistic, there is still enough room for interpretation. Do the artist and the viewer see the same story? It doesn’t really matter, because the beauty in his work has a autonome quality. How can we interprete the work in the conscious and unconscious brain?
The first will be hit by the clear styled forms and the technical know-how. The second by his favourite theme, nature, the loving images of men and animals, often together in harmony.
Very common in his work is the symbolic worth within the story. The viewer experiences an emotion, seeing a human or human presence, funny or vulnerable. You sympathize with the myth and feel the power of the methaphorical meaning. This is confirms we are dealing with a real artist.
Erwin Meijer managed very well to give his sculptures a classic universality, timeless, surpassing the boundaries of reality. With a signature beyond countries and cultures. . East and west meet each other in many sculptures, like Europe and the bull...

The tiger has always been a symbol of swiftness in decision-making, lightning-fast reaction and love of risk. Natural optimism gives all the actions of the Tiger a bright shine. luck. He is an unsurpassed hunter. She loves order in everything, but lies and hypocrisy cannot stand the spirit. "Moonlight" unique bronze sculpture
Located in Glen Ellen, CA
Many of Gerard Tsutakawa’s home-sized sculptures, and some of his public ones, have a geometric window that allows the viewer to go through and beyond the form. In “Moonlight,” this small circle becomes the moon and one can go through its phases simply by moving from side to side, the highly polished edges of the circle’s edges mimicking delicate moonlight peering through the night of the dark patina surrounding it.
"Moonlight" is finely hand-crafted in fabricated bronze, as opposed to cast, and is therefore one-of-a-kind rather than an edition. Finished with the artist’s rich, dark patina with bluish tinges and a polished inner circle.
Gerard Tsutakawa’s designs are a confluence of the cultures and traditions of the Pacific Rim. Tsutakawa grew up with a rich heritage of Japanese design creativity and sensibility combined with a lifetime spent in the Pacific Northwest’s beautiful natural environment. Exposure to the esthetics of cultures around the Pacific Rim instilled a humanistic approach to his creative process. He gathers images as bold as a Tongan war club, or as sensitive as folded origami paper, and creates a subliminal integration as a new art form.
Tsutakawa apprenticed with his father, the late George Tsutakawa...

Arman wrote, “The bow on the strings releases an explosion of sounds,” in the book Trio à cordes published by GKM Siwert Bergström nearly twenty years ago. The words are his own. The book is a tender homage to music and expresses the artist’s predilection for the tones of violin, cello and double bass. Lyrically orchestrated poems are conflated with ingenious detail images: multi-coloured violins and a delicately painted cello are but two of the motifs drawn against the straight lines of the score.
The first steps towards collaboration with GKM Siwert Bergström came with an exhibition in Malmö, when Arman staged a “happening” in Malmö Concert Hall. This was followed by several exhibitions in Malmö, at the Stockholm Art...
