Encaustic and oil with acrylic frame
1/1 The contrasting deep blues and bright reds underlying a lattice of wax are reflective of the topography of a natural landscape. The fluid movement of color is suggestive of waters movement through land, and creates a dynamic blend between contrasting tones. Dripping wax guides the viewer’s eye around the piece, exploring new areas of detail at the end of each line. As with all of Andrea’s textural encaustic works, the torching and layering of molten beeswax with oil are reflective of nature’s life force.
