My artistic practice originates from a raw visceral space where I create emotionally driven paintings capturing the tension between nature’s immense power and human vulnerability. Inspired by imagined geological and atmospheric shifts, the abstract gestures within my work reflect the emotional impact of external forces on our internal landscapes.
My mark making has almost always been accumulative (suggestive of mounting experiences, and a crescendo of adrenaline). A notable shift in my process in the past year has been the use of dissection and reformulation as a method of building. The genesis of my newest work begins with crafting small paper collages, utilizing a blend of copy machine printed images from my past artworks, and landscape photographs captured on my phone. A process akin with the act of processing itself. These collages are a tapestry of intertwined images and textures mined from my life experiences, reconfigured to create entirely new complex forms. These collages then serve as blueprints for large-scale shaped oil paintings.
Allowing each new work to assume its own distinct physical shape, each piece stands as a distinct entity. These large paintings on floating panels shift once again, evoking storms, cosmic explosions, and the fragile balance between reality and perception. I have been reinvigorated by this new process, and also see its infinite space for expansion moving forward.

ANN MARIE AURICCHIO is a painter and installation artist living and working in New Orleans, Louisiana. After receiving her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art where she double majored in painting and sculpture, Auricchio merged her disciplines as a scenic artist and designer for film, theater and television. During her 25-year tenure in the entertainment industry, she worked on projects for award-winning classics such as Requiem for a Dream, Broadway’s Lion King, and mega-films like John Wick. In 2019 Auricchio honored her call to shift her creative energy back into her own work, lowered the curtain on her life in production, and embraced her studio practice full time. She has exhibited works nationally in commercial galleries as well as with alternative and institutional spaces such as White Columns NY, the Alexandria Museum LA, and the Contemporary Art Center New Orleans. Auricchio has completed residencies at the Joan Mitchell Center (2021-2022) and the Virginia Center for Creative Arts (2023). Included in many private collections, Auricchio’s work also belongs to several corporate collections, including: Azamara Cruise Lines and the Scott Companies.

" Sprouting for an Inch, in for a Mile" is a powerful painting process that captures the essence of life and vitality. This painting captures the spirit of improvisation and adaptation, with dynamic form that projects for a willingness to take risks and explore new variables. The sprouts seem to reach out to and connect with each other, forming a bridge that spans the spatiality between them. The vibrant colors and sensitive brushwork in this canvas suggest a for sense of confidence and determination. The sprouts seem to be forging a path forward, with a clear sense of purpose and direction.
The oblique structure and multi-faceted forms accumulate to create a sense of vivid motion and change. The ethos showcases an accomplishment in self-realization of aesthetic views of both Eastern and Western cultures. Wong attempts to vitalize certain built-in imageries and present the visual world via a dynamic interaction for human passion with the environment and the universe. In retrospect about the reciprocity between poetry and art, Cymn’s artistic attainments are expanding into a vivid oasis that she has been stimulated in an international platform.
