Hot garden is an original painting by Christo Sharpe. Christo Sharpe spends most of his time in southern Spain where the intense heat, colours and forms have always appealed to his sense of texture and form. Hot garden shows a range of this colour and form compressed into a painting that brings that heat into your home.
Clear, bold and confident, Christo Sharpe is a lifelong painter who closes on a subject pull your attention to the colours, shapes and details in front of him. His strong colours and compositions are delightfully simple and appealing. After Southampton College of Art and a 20 year career as an art director in advertising he is now focusing exclusively on his art. He his an enthusiastic walker and it is often on these walks that his subjects reveal themselves. It is not always the classic views that appeal, it can just as often be a gnarled tree trunk, a dense woodland or a well designed garden that attracts his attention. If he can take the subject in front of him and encourage the viewer to see something new and different in that image then he has achieved what he set out to do. To generate an awareness that might otherwise be missing. This is work that looks and feels fresh.
