Dean Rossiter is an emerging British artist with a rapidly establishing international reputation, parallels have been drawn between Dean and the impact of the YBA’S in 1990’s Britain. Quoted by the International Confederation of Art Critics as a “Young talent who is undoubtedly interesting and well worth keeping an eye on.” Dean has begun to establish himself as a significant talent among his generation.
Having been born after the creation of the internet and having grown up through the digital revolution, Dean’s early paintings investigated the paradoxic impact digital technologies were having on the world’s current generation. These paintings brought into question the adverse effects these digital worlds were having on modes connectivity and socialisation and explored the role of painting in a world of digital addiction and short attention spanned society’s.
Dean’s latest hybridised works investigate the role, power and status of Art in today’s commodified, consumer driven culture. Seductive, Witty, Beguiling and refreshingly honest, are just a few words that have been used to describe Dean’s new body of works titled ‘Reaction Paintings’. These works are already housed in public, corporate and private collections internationally and have already been exhibited in Museum shows by the Museums of Contemporary Art – artplu in Shanghai.
Highlights of 2017 include the artist’s first large scale, solo exhibition in London, as well as a selection of High Profile exhibitions throughout Europe, Asia and America.
