Denise Driscoll
"Breath", abstract, textured, blues, net, white, lines, acrylic painting

2018

About the Item

"Breath" by Denise Driscoll is a 42 x 32 inch acrylic painting on canvas in subtly textured blues. A net of fine white lines hovers above a cloud-like space reminiscent of a night sky. Each intersection in the white net is marked by an iridescent white dot. The painting continues around the gallery-wrapped 1.5 inch sides and is signed on the reverse. Driscoll's "Threshold" series are expansive, meditative accumulations of color, mark, and space that shimmer with possibility. Denise Driscoll is a contemporary painter exploring themes of interconnection and inner experience. Her work has been shown throughout New England and is in many private collections. Driscoll is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.

A central palm tree in red outline with black leaves divides the pyramidal composition that is completed with select sections painted in with red, turquoise, white and periwinkle. The sky is brushed, bright yellow.
