Dorothy Marootian (1921-2015) was an American painter known for her vibrant landscapes and abstract works, often inspired by natural scenes like canyons, deserts, and coastlines. A graduate of Cooper Union, Marootian lived in California, where her exposure to local landscapes heavily influenced her art. She participated in exhibitions with the California Watercolor Society in the 1940s and earned several awards over her career for her compelling interpretations of nature.
