About the Item
Ekaterina Ermilkina’s original triptych artwork is a breathtaking interpretation of urban skylines, blending abstraction with texture and color to evoke the energy and rhythm of big cities. The piece, measuring an expansive 48 inches in height by 75 inches in width, consists of three panels (each 48 inches high by 24 inches wide), designed to be displayed together for a cohesive, panoramic effect. This large-scale composition is perfect for a statement wall in a living room, dining area, or office space, where its scale and intricate details can be fully appreciated.
The artwork’s rich palette features a dynamic mix of vibrant hues and calming tones, skillfully applied with a palette knife. Ermilkina uses her signature technique of layering thick, cube-like dots of oil paint in distinct, deliberate patterns. These textured paint applications create a three-dimensional quality that captures light and casts subtle shadows, adding depth and intrigue to the piece. The effect is reminiscent of a mosaic, where each "dot" contributes to the vibrancy and balance of the overall composition.
The background tones provide a harmonious contrast to the foreground textures, featuring soft gradients and subtle architectural elements. These geometric forms hint at the structural elements of cityscapes, creating a sense of urban vibrancy and energy. The interplay of colors and textures radiates positivity, making the artwork feel alive and dynamic.
Each panel is designed with painted edges, continuing the imagery seamlessly around the sides for a polished, frameless look. This allows the artwork to be hung without a frame, giving it a modern, contemporary appeal. The panels are wired and ready to hang, making installation simple. Free delivery is available within the Los Angeles area, and the artwork can be shipped affordably across the U.S. and globally. A certificate of authenticity from the gallery accompanies this unique and inspiring piece, ensuring its provenance and value.
The triptych’s large dimensions and modular format make it highly versatile for various spaces. Whether hung together in a linear arrangement or spaced slightly apart for added impact, this artwork transforms any wall into a focal point of color, texture, and sophisticated energy.
Born in 1975, Saratov, Russia, Ekaterina Ermilkina now lives and works in New Jersey. She grew up in the beautiful city of Yalta in Crimea on the North coast of the Black Sea, where in 1985 she enrolled as a student at the School of Art of F.Vasiliev, graduating in 1991.
After her first introduction to fine art in Yalta, in 1992, Ekaterina Ermilkina moved to Saint-Petersburg, Russia. In 1998 she received her MFA from State Art and Industry Academy. The unique beauty and rich culture of the city inspired her to paint cityscapes.
In late 2005, Ermilkina moved to the U.S. Her works have been presented in various solo and group exhibitions in international galleries and art fairs and have been collected throughout the United States, as well as Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, and Russia.
Her artworks pop with color and motion, casting a candied haze across the urban landscape. “I am focused on art all my life. It makes me optimistic, full of energy, and happy. The vivid colors of Crimea where I grew up, the beautiful marine of the Black Sea, inspired me to paint for the rest of my life. I believe that paintings can reflect our desires for beauty, poetic,s and perfection.”

Dreamy Day - Colorful Impasto Abstract City Scene Textural Oil Painting
By Ekaterina Ermilkina
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Ekaterina Ermilkina’s original, abstract fine art paintings are created using a skillful combination of applying and removing oil paint with a palette knife on canvas. Her inspirations are the expressionistic skylines of big cities like Manhattan, Philadelphia, or Chicago filled with colorful skyscrapers. The urban, scenic views are abstracted and rich with vivid and textured layers. Ermilkina’s emotional architectural patchwork and mosaic cityscapes radiate a life of balance and positive energy.
This artwork measures 15 inches high by 30 inches wide. Ermilkina carefully adds thick cube-like dots of oil paint with a palette knife in distinct patterns onto the surface, adding an intricate three-dimensional texture to her oil paintings. The color spots partially blend into a fuller range of background tones and give the artworks a significant depth. She signs the front of the artwork and paints the sides as a continuation of the front. It does not require framing. It is wired and ready to hang. Convenient local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping. A certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery is included.
