About the Item
This artwork by Françoise Duprat depicts an abstract marine landscape in turquoise blue with red touch. In her early artist carrier Françoise painted mostly figurative & symbolist artworks , and in her recent period she paints mostly lyrical abstract artworks. It happens that the versatile artist marries these two styles in certain artworks of hers.
Concerning the artistic approach of this abstract artwork, the artist has her own words : "Certain places speak to me and invade my thoughts… Their reality imposes itself on me in what it is imperishable and also moving. I try to keep only a tiny part of it. Few colors enter the scene. The values are placed in a very structured way, then the colors are superimposed and play with their transparencies, the roughness of the material is created as you go. What then remains of these places ? What remains is what once existed and still exists. The timeless, with force, becomes for me a source of inspiration and suggests an imagination specific to each one of us."
Françoise Duprat is a French artist. She learned art at the Atelier Met de Penninghen and Jacques d'Andon (now known as ESAG Penninghen), installed in the mythical Académie Julian, and she is a graduate of the prestigious Académie de la Grande Chaumière (where studied also Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, Louise Bourgeois, Jérôme Savary, Zao Wou-Ki, Amedeo Modigliani, Tamara de Lempicka, Alberto Giacometti, Balthus and many other great names of contemporary painting).

Françoise Duprat is a French artist. She learned art at the Met workshop in Penninghem under Jacques d'Andon, located on the premises of Académie Julian. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Académie de la Grande Chaumière, where many great names of contemporary painting also studied.
