About the Item

This powerful artwork was finished by the artist in the summer of 2015. It was created with acrylic paint on high quality canvas. The artist created the piece using multiple techniques like palet knife, brush and action painting. One could categorise the artwork in the abstract expressionism category while the piece also has a figurative quality to it. The magnificent and intense and bright colourful composition would complement a modern interior design. The color schemes are pink, green and yellow. The artwork is unique and no prints or multiples are available. Dutch artist Harry van Gestel created the painting in his studio in Amsterdam where he has been creating his art since 1998. The work is signed on the back of the canvas and comes including a certificate of authenticity. Short bio: Harry van Gestel was born in Reusel, a small village in the south of the Netherlands in 1953. Van Gestel is best known for his large and colourful abstract expressionistic paintings. Throughout his career Harry has built an extensive body of works including paintings, sculptures, drawings, flower art, performances, poetry, tapestries and books. Through his international lifestyle and many international exhibitions he has left a trail of his art that reaches from Nagasaki Japan to Los Angeles USA. Art critics and collectors have described his work as: “A feast for the eye”, and “A mind altering experience”. The works of Harry van Gestel are featured in galleries, hotels, hospitals, law firms, the Nagasaki Museum of Culture, in the collection of private collectors, small businesses, multinationals, and even diplomatic collections. Since 1998 Harry owns his own gallery and studio in the city centre of Amsterdam; The Harry van Gestel gallery. Since then his works have been auction by Sotheby’s Amsterdam for a large variety of charity auctions. Former Business Development Director Sotheby’s Amsterdam and Art Historian Mr. Max Hemelraad describes his body of works as: “Vast and Significant” and his style as “Beyond any -ism”.
