About the Item
Signed, verso, 'Holly Blake', dated 2016 and titled 'A Pattern of Chance'.
Holly Blake (American, 20th century) first attended Ohio's Columbus College of Art and Design and subsequently earned a master of fine arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute. She then furthered her studies at the Affiliate Artist Program at Headlands Center for the Arts, where she currently manages the Artist in Residence Program.
Blake has exhibited widely and with success and, in 2003, won top honors at the juried exhibition at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art. The artist sees her painting as a spiritual medium and incorporates symbols and devices representing astrology, tarot, Wicca and other theological elements into her paintings.
