This painting is part of a series of mixed media abstract paintings begun in 2015 by Ferst. In these paintings Ferst's muse, the sonoran desert is depicted with his signature colourist viewpoint but taking the recognizable landscape and breaking it down into a variety of shapes and colour fields. These represent the flora and fauna of the desert. In Ferst's eye the desert is rich in animal and plant life and for him the colours of the desert are just abundant and magical.
