About the Item
In "Wheel of Fortune," the artist, Jennifer Blalack, uses many different mediums to create the significant texture in this work. She uses the visual language of Robert Rauschenberg by combining everyday objects like fabric, house paint, plastic bags, string, and tissue paper to construct a narrative on canvas. She uses soft blues, periwinkle, yellows with cream, pink, and blue accents in this work. The painting is composed of vibrant native dresses, pieces of found paper, and "skins" that she uses as transparent layers.
