About the Item
Artist Comments
Artist Lisa Carney displays an abstract depiction of wildflower-covered fields and sea corals in sophisticated earthy tones. Part of her lush and colorful GeoFlora series. She spontaneously splashes paint onto the canvas to color the free-spirited composition. The piece features a neutral-toned taupe and black background with turquoise, white, and rust accents.
About the Artist
Lisa Carney draws her inspiration from the earth's layers and the history they hold. The drips, splashes, scrapes and scratches in her art happen spontaneously and come together to create a cohesive whole. She began to craft a more organic feel in her works after noticing the texture in her works resembled plant roots. She currently lives in Canada and admires artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
