Lowell Boyers’s paintings are explorations of how multiple images can take shape and evolve on a surface. Each work is an amalgamation of forms—bodies, architecture, landscapes, and animals—that are not immediately recognizable or fully articulated.
“Every moment we travel through our Innerscapes, moments upon moments like footsteps along a ceaseless but fertile path, always bearing fruit and flower. The paintings endeavor to represent this utterly present expression with countless notes of color and marks that weave together a song of some ‘Becoming’."
Lowell Boyers (b. 1966) is a graduate of MFA program at Yale University and the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA). He has been living and working in New York City for over 30 years.
