Using pure oil paint, which gives the artwork its unique texture, the artist manages to use two particularly difficult colors to work with: black and blue.
This artwork is part of the exhibition “Kind of Blue, Kind of Black”, which is an investigation regarding the relationship between these two colors as a part of our visual and emotional language. Through the juxtaposition of both elements, which are fundamental in the artistic palette, Guzmán achieves a phenomenal combination that lives between the figurative, surrealist and abstract.
