Partha Shaw
Untitled, Acrylic on Paper, Abstract, Black Color, Contemporary Art "In Stock"

About the Item

Partha Shaw - Untitled - Acrylic on Paper. 20 x 30 inches This work will be shipped flat without frame. Style : Shaw works mainly with landscapes, but handles them in a very contemporary fashion. Instead of using abstract methods of representation, Shaw, along with some other Bengal artists, has used figures in his paintings to represent what he wants. This movement has very aptly been termed "Figurative Symbolism," a conscious effort to exhort the virtues of the non-abstract. Partha is the Son to the Great Master Artist from Bengal Lalu Prasad Shaw. About the Artist & his work : Born : Partha Shaw was born in Kolkata in 1971. Education : 1992 - Bachelor of Fine Arts, Kala-Bhavan, Viswa Bharati, Santiniketan. 1994 - Master of Fine Arts, Rabindra-Bharati University, Kolkata. Art Career : Partha Shaw is a painter who schooled in Santiniketan - a place steeped in artistic tradition and history, generated by masters like Nandalal Bose and the Tagores, and enhanced by modern and contemporary artists like K.G. Subramanyan, Sunil Das and Dharmanarayan Dasgupta. It was in Santiniketan that Partha Shaw developed his imagination and creative vision. But even though Shaw had this rich and overflowing background to borrow from, he like most of the other artists there, decided to create a style of his own and add to the heritage he learnt of, rather than make use of it. Here, he could also closely study nature and the works of the great Indian masters. Taking off from the unique Indian miniature, Shaw gave shape to his personal vocabulary of artistic expression, which is characteristically Indian and at the same time is loaded with modernity. Solo & Group Exhibitions : So far most of his showings have been in his own city, the exceptions being a couple of exhibitions in New Delhi. Shaw`s first solo show was held in 1995. He has held solo shows of his work at Kolkata and New Delhi besides participating in many group exhibitions held in different parts of India and abroad including those at Mumbai, Bangalore and London. Partha has toured extensively and taken part in important art campus and workshops.

Lighten Up - 24"x30" - Abstracted Chandelier Painting, Grey, Beige, White, Blue
By Andrea Stajan-Ferkul
Located in Mississauga, Ontario
Lighten Up - This is an abstracted style chandelier painting combining delicate detail with intuitive abstract brush work. Tonal layers build up a textured surface evoking visual movement, and form small paintings within the larger canvas. The blend of literal and abstract elements keep the eye engaged, with an outcome both expressive and refined. // Andrea Stajan-Ferkul is a Canadian artist whose work conveys a sense of experimentation through the use of paint, fabric collage and abstract mark-making. While not exclusive to fashion, dresses have been a compositional focus throughout her oeuvre. With an emphasis on timelessness, her series of dress paintings shift between realistic representation and interpretive impressions. In contrast, her series of abstract works embrace minimalism, considerate to a restrained palette and composition. Stajan-Ferkul began her career in fashion advertising before shifting her focus to fine art in 2000. Her work has been exhibited widely through galleries and art fairs, and hangs in private and public collections across Canada, US and Europe. A graduate of Sheridan College of Art and Design, Stajan-Ferkul's paintings can be found in numerous public and private collections, her work has been published in magazines and book covers, and prints are distributed internationally. In 2009, Stajan-Ferkul was invited to exhibit her work in Ottawa’s Rideau Hall, hosted by (then) Governor General of Canada, Michaëlle Jean. keywords: enlightened, chandelier, painting, impressionistic...

Mickey
By Dominique MULHEM
Located in Atlanta, GA
Dominique Mulhem was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine June 13, 1952. 1975: Training at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His painting refers to pop culture and art Ownership (art) by his inspiration. His technique was initially very pop art with the use of the bomb and stencils and more hyperrealistic with airbrushing to become a modern pointillism. It was the first multimedia artist inventing in 1979 the holopeinture where he mixed paint holography. He had to work in the early 70s on the different 3D rendering techniques. Beyond its highly representative form, his painting is primarily conceptual. The themes are the lives of people and things, without limit in treated subjects. All the work of Dominique Mulhem has the same theme : the concept of simultaneous vision. “The look from inside” as Pierre Restany said. INTERNATINALES EXHIBITIONS: GERMANY, CHINA, COLOMBIA, KOREA, DENMARK, EGYPT, SPAIN, UNITED STATES, GREECE, FRANCE, HUNGARY, ITALY, LUXEMBOURG, MONACO, RUSSIA, SWITZERLAND. Dominique retrospective MULHEM 1972-2009, City of Asnieres-sur-Seine, France. PRESENCE IN MUSEUMS : Museum of Holography, Paris, France. Hungarian National Museum, Budapest, Hungary. Museum of Holography, Washington, USA. Zamalek Museum and Arts Centre, Cairo, Egypt. PRESENCE IN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS Scarification : Dominique Mulhem develops a suite of amazing concepts, suite, analysis, updating, revisiting any of these terms is false but none are true, the most appropriate choice would be thinking. Thinking back on as thought to further examine refraction and reflection as to take another propagation velocity of the history of art. It shall submit the artwork to a movement infinite in space and time. In the 80’s Portraits of Artists planned painters and sculptors between past and future by offering a three-dimensional holograms vision. In the 90s his imaginary museum, Pierre Restany wrote: “Dream Creatures to a dream before painting it’s more!” In “I should say, because my eye has been unable to separate things, to erase this simultaneous vision, to separate the two elements “.In the 2000s Zones, timeless journeys in the words and sentences of Guillaume Apollinaire’s poem. Every decade Mulhem shares his world view. Today his scars challenge us on different characteristics of our society to the standardized culture object...
