Ralph Eugene Della-Volpe
Beach Patterns Abstract

1979

About the Item

Della-Volpe early abstractions are rare and good. Even at this early time he abstracted off "beach" elements such as shapes and colors. With minimal shapes here he creates a composition that is interesting to the eye and the green he uses is very attractive - especially for a room and to compliment wood tones or whites. The 1950's was an era where abstraction was the prevailing style and this typifies what is best from the era. Goes well with mid-century modern or anything including traditional rooms with a lot of patterning! The frame is austere and well crafted and its 22 karat silvered leaf. Canvas inside the frame measures 20 x 22 inches
