This piece was inspired by artist Cy Twombly (a favorite of mine) and was inspired by the landscape in Napa.
About the Artist
A master of oils, cold wax, and mixed media, Susan develops her abstract compositions by looking to nature for inspiration. She finds beauty in changing seasons and the hope that each new chapter has the power to evoke. Though the more things change, the more they also stay the same. “While I am open to new mediums, techniques, and approaches, a reverence for the past informs most of my work,” she says. Susan also notes that her career in graphic design has influenced her work in some ways, but she also loves the freedom and spontaneity that she is allowed in her studio.
