About the Item
A beautiful Monotype one-of-a-kind minimalist image on paper in black,dark grey, and white with a striking brushstroke of red. On 30x22" archival arches paper with image measuring 20"x20" created with oil etching inks. This original on paper is shipped to you rolled in a tube. What is a Monotype? – It is a traditional, fine art process used for hundreds of years. It is an original painting that is created with oil or etching inks. The inks are painted or applied directly onto a steel or copper plate. High-quality archival paper is then placed over the newly painted surface and then hand-pulled through a fine art printmaking press. The pressure transfers the painting from the plate to the paper while also embossing the paper. The image is reversed. The plate may be run through the press several more times as additional paint is applied for the same monotype.
