About the Item

Acrylic and markers on lamp Ziv Lahat alias SOWHAT!!! is an Israeli artist born in 1981 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast to Israeli parents of Egyptian and Tunisian origin who lives and works in Hezrliva, Israel. He sends to us by his colorful art a message to the humanity. He started drawing from a very young age, heavily influenced by tribal cultures. The artist’s name SOWHAT!!! is taken from a song title by the same name by the legendary Miles Davis, representing the influence music has to his life and art in particular, mixed with the cultures he grow up in which includes Israel, the Ivory Coast and France, and the various countries he has visited around the world including USA, Hawaii, Japan, Thailand, and all over Europe where he found creative ways to cooperate different encounters and experiences in his art. His first solo exhibition took place in 2009 in Paris, France. It was his main starting point, he showcased his custom-made shoes designs. From there his career took off with varies of appearances in art magazines, collaborations and awards that peaked in 2017 when he was a skateboarder. As main artist, he created for the international SK8 ART 4 life show in San Paolo, Brazil received a lot of attention as the first international artist in the skateboarding arena in Brazil. He was then approached by many brands and received requests for interviews and collaborations. His next big achievement was a feature in the 2018 edition of The Wynwood Colouring Book, the largest and most important review for street art in the world. He was published among best street artists and muralists worldwide. Toda, he is featured in many exhibitions all over the world, collaborates with different brands in the world of fashion, Skateboarding, footwear and surfing brands.
