About the Item
William Oliver was a British artist (1823-1901) that flourished in the areas of genre and figurative painting during the years 1867 to 1882. He specialised in half-length portraits of girls and fifteen works by him were exhibited during his lifetime at the Royal Academy in London - titles included A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever and Love is a Test- as well as at the British Institution and the Society of British Artists.

William Oliver
William Oliver was a painter based in London; he painted figurative and genre subjects.
